Reference Entities Enhancement
Reference Entities help to create and enrich the entity related to the product. This feature is available in the enterprise edition of the connector.
The reference entity helps to create and manage the common options for the products. For example, the user can create a reference entity to manage their countries, color, and size. It will work for entities shared between many products.
- Filter on the options and reference entities links attributes in the grid :
In version 3.1, the user can filter the reference entities based on the options and reference entities’ links attributes.
For example, if there is a “Color” reference attribute that has different options in a Blue attribute like “Baby blue” and “Alice Blue” then the user can search “Color” with “Baby blue” options.
- Display the options and reference entities links in the reference entities grid :
With this enhancement, the values of a reference attribute type (single/multiple options and reference entity single/multiple links) will be displayed in the record grid.
- New number attribute type :
With this enhancement, now the users can add the number type of attribute of the reference entity. Furthermore, it will help to add the numeric values and the values also can be decimal with the min and max limit.
- New ability to display products linked to a reference entity :
With the option, it is possible to see all the products that are linked to a reference entity. For example, if the multiple products have the reference entity “color” then all the products related to the reference entity will be visible in the grid.
Franklin Insights Enhancement
Franklin Insights is an Enterprise Feature in Akeneo. It provides the feature of the product data intelligence assistant.

Export Performance Improvements
Version 3.2 comes with a major improvement in API. Now, the user can export the products “5 times faster” with the API on average compared to exports via Excel or CSV. Moreover, in Akeneo, the export process totally depends upon the size, values, and assets of the products.
With this major change in API, now the user can export more than 200,000 products per hour or 57 products per second with an average of 400 values. The users can export approx 700,000 products per hour or 192 products per second 50 values per product.
The major API enhancement in Akeneo version 3.2 is in the product model API call.
- Product Model(variant) endpoints: With this enhancement in API, the API will take the less call to retrieve the family information. Without this enhancement, the users were not able to fetch the family information of a product model in API.
- Filter in retrieving variant products: With this enhancement, the user can retrieve all the variant product(child products of a variant) for a given product model.
