Create Product and Product Variant in Akeneo

You can create the product in Akeneo directly or you can import the product from different channels like E-commerce, Marketplaces, ERP, and Files (CSV, XLSX).

For creating the product in Akeneo you have to go to the Akeneo dashboard and click on the products.

After clicking on create product icon, you will get two options Product and Product model. For creating of simple product you have to click on Product.

After choosing the product action you have to enter some data.

• SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) – Stock Keeping unit is an identification of a product that helps to track the goods in inventory.
• Family – A product family is a set of attributes that represent the products from the same family.

After clicking on the save button the product window will open and here you have to fill in the details of the product. You have to fill in the details like name and description. We can make other attributes if you want to use them.

You can add other attributes like images, colour, and size.

After it, you have to assign a category to this product you can assign a single category or multiple categories to this product.

After it, click on the save button and your product is added to the Akeneo product list.

For creating the variant product in Akeneo you have to choose a product model. It collects the variant products and helps to improve their common properties.

After selecting the product model we have to enter the details like code, family, and variant.

Click on the save button. Here you can set the information for common and variant products.

For creating the variant product you have to click on the down array symbol like colour and size and click on the add new icon and a window will open.

Here you have to enter the variant axis like if your variant is colour then the variant axis should be white or black. Now click on the confirm button.

After clicking on the save button you have to enter the details of the variant product.

Now you have to assign a category to this product.

After entering the variant product details and assigning a category you can click on the save button. Now you can see the variant product in the Akeneo product list.
