INTRODUCTION

Verify Unregistered Email on Your Website with Odoo Website Email Verification!

Email can be used as the most preffered way to communicate with the customers, so verifying emails become necessary to check that the registered email is all correct or not. Email verification is also become necessary for the fraud prevention on your website. As a Solution for Email Verification Webkul comes up with the module ‘Odoo Website Email Verification’.

‘Odoo Website Email Verification’ allows you to send an automatic email with a verification link to the registered email address after signup. Customers can place the order on the website only after Email Verification, so this module restricts the customers to checkout without email verification. This module also allows sending customizable emails for the email verification.

FEATURES

  1. Send token-based emails for verification to the customers while signup.
  2. Set the validity of the tokens in the configuration on your own.
  3. Accounts will not be activated until the email is verified.
  4. On clicking the link sent to the mail you will be redirected to a simple page.
  5. Restrict unverified users from checkout.
  6. Resend email if the verifying link is expired or the user wants a new email.
  7. Automatic redirection to login after clicking on the valid email link.

INSTALLATION

  1. Once you purchase the App from the Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
  2. Extract the file from your system after the download finishes. As a result, you will be able to see a folder named- ‘email_verification’.
  3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
  4. Now, open the Odoo Apps and then, click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
  5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on the ‘Update Modules List’.
  6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and then, search ‘email_verification’.
  7. As a result, you will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

WORKFLOW

Backend Configuration

  1. Firstly, login to the ‘Odoo Instance’ and go to the ‘Website’ module.

  1. Now, tick the check box next to ‘Email Verification’ under the ‘Webkul Website Addons’ tab. Now, click on the ‘Configuration’ tab next to Email Verification.

  1. Select the website and tick the checkbox next to ‘Restrict Unverified Users From Checkout’ add ‘Token Validity’ and then click on the ‘Apply’ button.

  1. Now, go to the ‘Settings’ module. Click on the ‘Templates’ under the ‘Technical’ menu and now click on the ‘Create’ button to create an Email Template for the Email Verification.

  1. Add name, select the category for whom the email verification is required, add subject, draft the template and then click on the ‘Save’ button.

  1. Notification for Verified Account. A notification will display on your screen showing that your account is verified and also after 5 sec it will be redirected to the account page.
