    Odoo Website Advance Search

    INTRODUCTION

    Odoo E-commerce Advance Search module you to search the products on the Odoo website using various filters such as Name, SKU, attribute or category.

    The products can be searched using a single filter or multiple filters at the same time.

    If the customer uses more than one filters on the Odoo website, only those products which match all the filter criteria would show in the search results.

    FEATURES

    • The module adds advanced filters to the search bar on the Odoo website.
    • The customers can filter the search results to easily find the product they are looking for on the website.
    • The products can be filtered on the basis of category, attribute, name, and product SKU.
    • The customers can apply more than one filter at a time to narrow down the search.
    • Only those products which meet all the filters applied by the customer would show up in the search results

    INSTALLATION

    1.) Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.

    2.) Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ecommerce_advance_search.

    3.) Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.

    4.) Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.

    5.) Then, open on Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.

    6.) In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ecommerce_advance_search.

    7.) You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

    WORKFLOW

    1.) In Odoo, navigate through Website >> WekBul Website Add-ons.

    2.) Click on ‘Configuration’ next to Website E-commerce Advance Search.

    3.) Click on create to add new advanced product filters configuration.

    4.) Select the filters you wish to add to the website search from the 5 available options namely, Name, Description, Category, SKU and Attribute.

    5.) Then, choose the website (in case you have multiple Odoo websites) on which you wish to show the advanced product filter options.

    6.) The ‘add options’ field is used to limit the number of filters a customer can select the same time. Here we set it to 3.

    For example, if you set it to 3, then the customer can only use at most 3 filters simultaneously to sort out the products, even if all 5 are available on the website.

    7.) Make sure the configuration is active. Only one configuration can be active for one website at one time.  Click Save

    8.) Now go the website >> Shop Page. Here, you can see new filter options.

    9.) Select the type of filter, say the name.

    10.) Now click on the ‘Add’ tab to select one more filter type. You can add at most 3 filter type at one time as mentioned in step 6.

    11.) Click on Submit. The products are now filters and only those products which match all the filter conditions as selected above would show up in the results.
