Odoo Marketplace Buyer Seller Live Chat, communicate effectively with customers.
Odoo Marketplace Buyer Seller Live Chat is built for marketplaces where buyers need quick answers. Buyers have questions and want instant replies before making a confident purchase decision.
This module lets buyers chat with sellers from the product page or seller profile. Meanwhile, sellers reply from the Odoo backend, and all chat threads are tracked for easy reference.
Customers can chat with multiple sellers at once, and sellers can handle multiple buyers simultaneously.
Furthermore, the module includes message editing, reply to, delete, typing indicators, and emoji features.
Admins can monitor all buyer-seller conversations from the backend and set a default welcome message for new chats. Additionally, all threads are stored in the Odoo backend for tracking and review.

Installation
- Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
- Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘marketplace_seller_livechat.’
- Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
- Now, open Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
- Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
- In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘marketplace_seller_livechat.’
- You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Activate’ to install it.
Workflow
1. Set Default Chat Message
After installing the Odoo Marketplace Buyer Seller Live Chat module, Go to Settings > Marketplace > Seller Live Chat Configuration and enter the default message content.
Admins can set a default welcome message that appears automatically when a buyer opens a chat.

2. Chat Now Button on Product Page
On the product page, buyers will see the seller’s profile with a “Chat Now” button below the seller’s name. After that, clicking it opens the Seller Buyer Live Chat widget directly on the page.

3. Buyer Initiates Chat with Seller
Once the buyer clicks “Chat Now”, the chat widget opens with the seller listed. Then, the buyer can search for sellers, select one, and start the conversation instantly.
The product details are automatically shared in the chat.

4. Seller Responds from the Backend
When a buyer sends a message, the seller receives a notification in the backend. The seller can open the chat widget from the Seller Dashboard and reply to the buyer’s queries in real time.
Both the buyer and seller can also see a live typing indicator at the bottom of the chat window when the other person is composing a message.

5. Chat with Multiple Sellers
Buyers can open and manage chats with multiple sellers at the same time. Each seller gets a dedicated chat widget on the frontend.
Sellers can also handle multiple buyer conversations simultaneously from the backend.

6. Edit, Reply & Delete Messages
During the conversation, buyers and sellers can hover over their message to access the action menu. From here, they can:
- Delete – remove a message from the conversation
- Edit – update a previously sent message
- Reply – respond to a specific message in the thread

7. Emoji Picker with Search
Both buyers and sellers can access the emoji picker directly from the chat toolbar. Use the built-in search bar to find any emoji by name and send it instantly.
Steps:
- Send the message.
- Click the emoji icon in the chat toolbar.
- Use the search bar to find the emoji.
- Click to insert it into the message field.

8. Emoji Reactions on Messages
Sellers can react to any buyer message using emoji reactions. Hover over the emoji icon next to the message to see the reaction options and click to react instantly.

9. Manage Live Chat Channels
Admins can view all available channels, check active sessions, and join or leave channels from this list view.

10. Live Chat Channel Configuration
Open any channel from the list to configure it. Admins can add or remove agents, manage sessions, and set up chatbot configurations directly from the channel settings.
