    Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) for Shopware 5

    Introduction

    Accelerated Mobile Pages(Shopware 5 AMP) is an opensource project designed by Google and Twitter. Look this is the era of mobile and if your customer searches for your product on mobile and your website taking to much time to load the products on the mobile web then you can lose your customer.

    Shopware 5 AMP allows you to create better and faster web pages when you are browsing on Mobile. It will improve the overall user experience and also improve site visibility while searching on a search engine.

    Installation

    Shopware provides two ways to install the plugin to the server.

    1. Using Command
    2. Manual installation

    Using command

    Consumers will get a zip folder, then they have to extract the contents of this zip folder on their system. The consumer has Copy the folder WebkulAmp to custom/plugins directory of Shopware5. As shown in the below image:

    Now open the Shopware5 application in the Terminal.

    Run this command to refresh the plugin –

    /bin/console plugin:refresh

    On the terminal, go to the root directory and run the command mentioned below –

    /bin/console sw:plugin:install WebkulAmp

    Add –clear-cache, after the installation of the plugin –

    ./bin/console c:c

    To activate the plugin, run the command mentioned below –

    ./bin/console sw:plugin:activate WebkulAmp

    Now refresh the administration.

    After that, visit administration Configuration->plugin manager->Installed, the Accelerated Mobile Pages for Shopware 5 plugin will be listed there.

    Manual Installation

    1 – Go to the plugin manager by navigating Shopware backend – Configuration -> Plugin Manager.

    2 – Upload the zip from the plugin manager in the backend.

    3 – Click on the installed link on the left side menu in the plugin manager.

    4 – Check the plugin in the uninstalled category and then click on the install button.

    5 – After the successful installation, click on the open button and activate it.

    Note:

    If the plugin is not listed, then first clear cache and then run the command below and then try again-

    /bin/console sw:plugin:refresh

    Now You will see the Shopware 5 AMP plugin will be listed there.

    Shopware5 Accelerated Mobile Pages

    Home Page

    The home page is like the welcome page for your users. After the proper installation of the module, the AMP would work on the home page.

    If the home page loads up instantly then users will be able to surf through the page without any delay.

    You can also check the side panel for the available categories to browse and finalize the products.

    Note

    It totally depends upon the Google crawlers for getting your website AMP pages to be displayed on the SERP page. Usually, it takes to around 12 to 24 hrs or more for the crawlers to crawl/index your pages.
