An app for Shopify that helps the merchants to assign zip codes to products and display zipcode checkers on the product/cart page of their stores to let customers check the product’s availability at a zipcode.
Let’s Begin with the App Installation Process and then, Understand the Workflow.
Installation
To install the app to your Shopify store: Log in to your Shopify account > Go to Apps > Further, click on Visit Shopify App Store.
Now, search for Product Zipcode Validator on Shopify App Store:
Click Add app button.
Getting redirected to the Shopify store, click the Install button.
Lastly, approve the charges & click the Start Free Trial Button and you are ready to use the app.
NOTE:- This app comes with a 7-days free trial period after which the app will be chargeable.
The app will be listed to your Shopify store.
Workflow
As soon as you’ll open the app, you’ll land on the Home Page from where you can check all the activities done in your store.
This section includes recently added products with zipcode rules, recently added zipcode records, overall product & zipcode statistics, take a tour option & app features.
STEP 1: Configuration
Firstly, let’s look up into the General Configuration: Enable the options as per the requirements.
Auto-assign all added zip code to a new product: Enable/Disable this option if you want to auto-assign the added zip codes to new products.
Disable add to cart if zip code is not available: Display the “Add to Cart” button on the Product Page.
Moving on to Label Configuration: To configure front end labels.
Message Background Configuration: Configure the background color of the success/error messages.
STEP 2: Add Country
In this section, the merchant can add countries and add states/provinces to the countries.
Also, the merchant can import countries in bulk via CSV upload.
NOTE:- Please make sure to read the instructions while preparing the CSV file. Now, download the sample CSV, make the changes in the CSV, and upload the updated CSV file.
STEP 3: Add State/Province
Clicking the Add State (Country>>Action menu), you can add states/provinces to that country. For this, you need to click the Add Province button and proceed to add states.
Clicking the Add Province button, you will enter the state name, city name and the zipcode.
You can also add the states to the countries in bulk via CSV.
STEP 4: Add/Import Products
From the Assign Zipcode section, you can add products or import products to the app in bulk via CSV upload.
IMPORT PRODUCTS
You can select the date range and import the Shopify products into the app.
STEP 5: Assign Zipcode to Products
Once all the products get listed in this section, proceed to assign zip codes to the product. Zipcodes can be assigned to products in bulk.
Clicking the Import Product Zipcode, you need to upload the zipcode CSV file as per the CSV format suggested in the app.
This way, you can assign zipcodes to products.
Visibility of Zipcodes on Front End
To display the zip code checker on your store front, you need to add the codes provided in the app. Go to the App>>Click the Configure Front button at the top-right corner of the page.

On Product Page
To check if the product is available for service at a location or not, the customer needs to enter the zip code and click the “Check” button on the product page.
In case the product is unavailable at the searched zip code, the “Add to Cart” button gets disabled and the customer won’t be able to proceed to checkout.
Note:- It is configurable in the app if you want to show/hide the “Add to Cart” button on the product page.
On Cart Page
The zip code checker can also be shown on the cart page to let customers check if the products added to the cart are available at the searched zip code or not. Explore

With the global search, the customer will get to know if the store products are available at the searched zip code or not. Know more
Blacklist Zipcodes
In the app, you can blacklist zipcodes in bulk via CSV upload. Just upload the CSV file of zipcodes that you want to blacklist and make the products unavailable on the blacklisted zipcodes.
To do this, visit the Assign Zipcode section in the app>>Select the product and click Assign Zipcode button in Action menu.
Clicking the Assign Zipcode button, you will be redirected to the Assigned Zipcode section. Now, click the Upload Blacklisted Zipcode button to upload the CSV.
Now, upload the CSV file as per the format suggested in the app. Also, follow the instructions while preparing the CSV.
NOTE: You can upload a maximum of 1000 records at one time.
This way, you can blacklist the zipcodes on products.
Additional features
The app comes with some additional features. Each additional feature comes with added functionalities and additional charges that will be added to your monthly subscription of the Zipcode Validator app.
RELATED PRODUCTS
Suppose a customer has entered the zipcode for a product and the result shows unavailable..!! Still, you can make them check out the related products available on the same zip code with the Related Product Feature.
Once you enable this feature, you need to update certain permissions in the app. Click the Upgrade App button and allow the permissions.
Now, you need to proceed to approve the charge. After this, proceed to sync all your Shopify store collections into the app. The related feature will add up $9 per month over and above your monthly charges for the Product Zipcode Validator app.
To display the related products, you have to copy the below-given code and paste it to the ‘product.liquid’ template.

SHIPPING FEATURE
You can also enable the functionality to display shipping methods on the basis of the delivery address. Enabling this feature will add $6 USD in addition to the cost of Product Zipcode Validator app.
Enable the Shipping feature and approve the charges.
Before You Install: It is mandatory to have real-time carrier calculated shipping within your Shopify store. This is a requirement defined by Shopify for your store to retrieve shipping rates from third-party sources, such as this shipping app.
Once enabled, a shipping section will get displayed. Enter the shipping method name and configure the shipping method.
Then click on the range to add the range on the basis of weight and price.
