Prestashop Product Info XML Feeds {User-Guide}

The reason for coming up with new modules every now & then is very simple. It is to provide a simple yet effective solution to everyday problems that many merchants face across the world. This time, we came up with one such module that generates product details data in an XML file. The module which I’m talking about here is the Prestashop Product Info XML Feeds module.

This particular module helps you to accumulate all the product data in an XML file. This way, the file becomes easy to understand for human as well as machines such as a computer. The benefits of this module do not end here. One of the significant features of this module is that it provides custom settings to create the XML file of product details. You can choose what details you want & what you don’t want in an XML file.

Now, let’s proceed further to know more about the working of the module.

Note: Prestashop Product Info XML Feeds module is compatible with Prestashop version 8.x.x.

• Create an XML file for product details.
• Choose to create an XML file for multiple products in one go.
• Update previously generated XML Product feed file by cron.
• Get a preview of the XML file with selected details of the product.
• Choose to change the position of product details in an XML file.
• View a list of all the XML files that you created for the product details.
• XML files make the work easier as they are both machine-readable & human-readable.
• This module is MultiShop compatible.

• Firstly, go to the module manager in the back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
• After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
• In this way, the module installation will be successful.

After the successful installation of the module, you can proceed to create an XML product feed. In order to create a new XML feed, firstly you need to go on to the XML product feed page. To do so, click on the configure button available against the module name or click on the “XML Feed” option available under the Catalog tab.

On clicking the “configure” button, you will land on the following page. Click on the “Add New” button to create a new XML product feed.

Update previously generated XML Product feed file by cron

The previously generated XML file will be updated through CRON every hour automatically if the admin makes any change.
Admin needs to set CRON job for this.
0 * * * * curl http://www.sitename.com/en/module/wkxmlproductfeed/wkxmlproductfeedcron?token=your token

You have to replace the string “www.sitename.com” with your site link.

To create a new XML product feed, you will need to fill in the details in the following form. The significance of each option is clearly explained against each option in the screenshot below.

On this page, you also get to select the product details that you want to get in the XML file. Apart from this, you can also preview the XML file along with the product details that you selected.

After selecting the product details that you want in an XML file, you even get to change the position of product details. The XML file will contain the product details in the manner you selected.

At last, you will find that an entry is created for the product XML feed in the list. The list contains both, i.e., the URL of an XML file & a link to download the XML file. You can also choose to edit or delete the entry created in the list.
