    WordPress Social Cards

    WordPress Social Cards plugin enables the user to generate OG (open graph) images for the posts they want to share on Facebook and Twitter. So, when the users share their posts a post image will get generated for their post showing the related content of the post. This is a much more effective way which basically attracts more users to your post.

    Features

    • The plugin generates OG (open graph) images for the posts which user wants to share on their Facebook or Twitter account.

    • Admin can configure the background color and text for the og(open graph) image generated by the plugin.
    • Admin can view the sample of the generated image to be used as the social card for their posts.

    Installation

    The admin will get a zip file that the admin has to upload in the WordPress admin panel. In the admin side panel, navigate through Plugins->Add New.

    Now, you will see an option on the top of your page that is “Upload Plugin”. Click the option to upload the zip file.

    After clicking on the “Upload Plugin” option, a button is visible – “Choose File”. Click on the button to browse for the zip file.

    Then browse the file and click the “Install Now” button to install the plugin as per the snapshot.wordpress social cards plugin - Installation

    Now when the plugin is installed correctly, you will see the success message and an option to activate the plugin. Click on “Activate Plugin” to activate the installed plugin.

    Add a Post:

    To add a post in the default WordPress, navigate through Posts->Add New.

    For the new post, enter the title and content for the post. Then publish the post by tapping on the Publish button.

    Now, the post is visible under Posts->All Posts. Kindly note the posts that you create here will be available for social card creation.

    Configuration – Social Cards

    After installing the plugin, the admin will see a Social Cards menu option on the admin side panel.

    Navigate to the social cards option. Here, you will see the complete lists of posts that you created in the default WordPress. Now, for the posts that you had created for them, you can configure the Social Cards as required.

    To do so, tap the “Click Here” button for the respective post.

    Tapping the “Click Here” button brings up the section to configure the Social Card setting for the post.

    The admin can select the background color for the post image from the various range of color choices including Flat Color and Gradient Color pallete options.

    After that, the admin can configure the text settings and can select the Font Family for the text to be visible on the social post card.

    The admin can also set the Font Size for the text to be shown on the social postcard.

    The admin can also select the text color from the range of color options provided as per his requirement.

    After that, the admin will set the content alignment and padding as per his requirement.

    The admin can also select the override option if he is using the Yoast plugin. So that the featured image will get overridden with the OG image generated by the plugin accordingly.

    After saving the settings, you can see a success message for the same. After that, the admin can share the post as required using the available buttons for Facebook and Twitter on the social card page.

    For the same, tap on the available Facebook and Twitter buttons.
