User Guide For RFQ For BigCommerce

Overview

Request for quotation(RFQ) for BigCommerce stores, the most important and awaited feature for BigCommerce store owners.

With RFQ For BigCommerce, customers can purchase bulk orders with custom pricing directly on the store.

The RFQ app allows them to negotiate with store owners and finalize the pricing to purchase.

Hence the store owners can generate orders of products in bulk and ultimately this will boost the sales and revenue of the store.

  • You can get RFQ requests for out-of-stock products as well.
  • The store owner will have 3 options for each RFQ, “Accept”, “Requote” and “Decline”.

After installing the application, configure the App Settings >> Setup (initial settings) as shown below.

You must add the code shown in the screenshot in your BigCommerce theme files to make the RFQ feature visible on the storefront.

Now configure the General Settings of the app as shown in the screenshot below

After that go to the Email Template settings and set the emails that you want to send on different events to the customers like RFQ placed, accepted or declined.

Syncing products from your BigCommerce store is the next step. For that go to the “Products” menu then start synchronizing.

After that as a store owner, you have to decide on which product(s) you want to apply RFQs to and then add “Minimum Quantity” below which a customer can’t create an RFQ for a corresponding product.

Here is the store-front view and product listing with the RFQ label, i.e., a customer can apply for RFQ on those products.

Now a form view will be open where a customer can add their “Ask Price” and its corresponding quantity.

Here “Ask Price” stands for the offered per unit price by the customer for the requested quantity of the product.

Note: Multiple products can be added in a single RFQ form.

Store owner’s view ( Back-end-view) :

Store owners can see the stats of all RFQs on a single dashboard.

As a store owner, you will receive an email notification also for a new RFQ request submitted by a customer, then you have to click on the menu “RFQ Products”.

By clicking on the action button, the admin can take the action on the request.

Detail view :

In this detail view of an RFQ request, the store owner has 3 options i.e. “Accept”, “Requote” and “Decline”

Note: The store owner can perform only one action at a time, and that action can’t be revoked.

If the admin accepts the RFQ request Then the RFQ status changes from active to completed.

An email notification will be sent to the respective customer to proceed to checkout.

By clicking on Checkout, the customer will be redirected to purchase the product on the requested price.

If the admin wants to negotiate the rates with a customer then go with “Requote” :

Click on the “Requote” button and enter your values in the form.

The associated customer will receive an email notification regarding requote.

If the admin wants to decline the quote – 

Click on the “Decline” button.
