PrestaShop YouTube Playlist {User Guide}

PrestaShop YouTube Playlist module helps shop owners to display YouTube video player along with the playlist on the shop.

Shop owners can create their custom playlist on YouTube & fetch them with the help of a YouTube account username to display on the shop.

Additionally, the module also offers some customization options to personalize the YouTube playlist player.

A shop owner can choose to display the YouTube playlist on any of the following pages.

• Home Page
• Category Page {Either in right column or left column}
• Product Page
• Supplier Page
• Manufacturer Page

Check the overview of the plugin in the video mentioned-below –

• Show YouTube playlist in 3 different modes i.e. playlist slideshow in a player, playlist in the right or playlist at the bottom.
• Choose to fetch videos via username or through video links.
• Enter the maximum number of videos to display in the playlist.
• Customize the dimension of the YouTube playlist wall.
• Select the video number to show it on loading the page from the playlist.
• Enable or disable the auto-hide playlist functionality.
• Choose to start playing the videos from the playlist automatically on loading the page.
• Select the page of the shop to show the YouTube playlist on it.

1. Firstly, go to the module manager in back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
2. After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
3. In this way, the module installation will be successful.

Firstly, you need to visit this link. Now, click on the Create Project & proceed.

After clicking on the “CREATE PROJECT” button, the following page will open.

Here, you have to enter the project name and then click on the ‘create‘ button.

On creating the project successfully, now select the project that you just created.

Now, go to Google APIs-> Credentials.

In this way, an API key will be created.

After that, you will need to enable the following YouTube APIs.

• Data API v3
• Analytics API
• Reporting API

After the successful installation of the module, you can proceed to configure the module.

In the configuration settings of the module, there are various options.

Firstly, enter the API keys & then select the YouTube playlist type.

• For username option, just enter the username of the channel whose videos you want to show on the front-end.
• Whereas, for playlist type URL, just copy the video URL from YouTube and paste it into the available field.

Also, set the height and width of the player & choose the video description length you want to display.

Play First: Enter the video number of the playlist that you want to start playing when the page loads successfully.

Auto Hide: Choose to show or hide the playlist.

Play On Load: Enable to play the video automatically on loading the page.

Position: Select the page on which you want to show the YouTube playlist.

So, this was all about the process to configure the module.

Now, after configuring the module successfully, you can show a YouTube playlist on the following positions.

• At the bottom of the page
• Inside the player
• At the right hand side of the video player
