PrestaShop Customer Address on Registration Form {User-Guide}

PrestaShop Customer Address on Registration Form module facilitates your customers to add their address while creating account in your website. It will help save customer’s time as they don’t need to add address from my account page. They can add their address at the time of registration.

Note: PrestaShop Customer Address on Registration Form module is compatible with PrestaShop version 8.x.x.

• Enable address fields on customer registration form.
• Show/Hide alias, company, VAT number, address complement, and phone fields on the registration page.
• Select the countries for which you want to hide the address fields.
• Automatically fill address fields like zip code, city, state, and country fields based on user’s IP address.
• New users can add their address while creating new account.
• PrestaShop Customer Address on Registration Form module is MultiShop Compatible.

• Firstly, go to the module manager in the back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
• After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
• In this way, the module installation will be successful.

After the successful installation of the module, the admin needs to configure it.

Module Settings

Under module settings, the admin can:

• Enable or disable the display of address fields on customer registration form.
• Choose to show or hide the address fields like first name, last name, alias, company, VAT number, address complement, and phone on the registration form.

As configured, the address fields will display on the registration form.

Display first name and last name

On the registration page, the fields First name and Last name below the Social title are saved in Information of Customer’s account. Whereas the fields First name and Last name below Birthdate are saved in Addresses of Customer’s account.

Suppose the customer wants to add the address of his friend or relative for sending him/her the gift. He can use these fields.

If admin has disabled “Address field on registration page”, then address fields will not display in registration form.

If some fields are marked as required under Addresses and the same fields are hidden from the module settings, then the priority will be given to PrestaShop default settings.

In the above screenshot, you can see that the admin choose address 2 field to display on the registration form. The same field is disabled from the module settings.

Address complement field is displayed in the registration form as it is marked as required under Addresses.

Under Geolocation, the admin can:

• Select the countries for which the address fields will not display on registration form.
• Enable auto-fill address on the registration.

Note:

From 30th December 2019, you need to register on MaxMind to download the geolocation data file. After creating the account, you can download the “GeoLite2City” database from the website. Once downloaded, extract the data using Winrar or Gzip into the /app/Resources/geoip/ directory.

Suppose the admin has selected India in Select countries field. Now, if a customer from India register on the store, he cannot view the address fields as shown below.

Auto-fill address

If this field is enabled, then the address fields like zip code, state, city, and country will automatically fill on the registration page based on the user’s IP address.
