Managing the inventory of an eCommerce store with a large selection of products can be sometimes challenging. Despite your best efforts, product combinations in your store can go out of stock. Thanks to Prestashop Change Default Combination When out of stock, which automatically changes the default product combination when it gets out of stock.
This extension changes the default combination when its stock becomes unavailable and set a new default product combination. In default Prestashop, you have to navigate through each product page to change the default combination which can be a lengthy and time-consuming process.
Note: Prestashop Change Default Combination When Out of Stock module is compatible with PrestaShop version 8.x.x and catalog’s new product page.

Features
- Option given to set a new default combination from “all combinations” or “similar combinations”.
- Option to set a combination with the highest or lowest quantity as a new default product combination.
- Set the most expensive or least expensive combination as a new default product combination.

Installation
- Go to back-office ->modules ->Module Manager.
- Now, click on “Upload a module” button and select the module’s zip file.
- In this way, the module gets install on Prestashop.

Configuration Settings
Set New Default Combination From
In this field, admin can select whether a new default combination will be from all the combinations or similar combinations.
If admin selects All Combinations
If a default combination of a product gets out of stock, then the combination next to the default combination will be a new default combination.
Suppose a default combination (Size – S, Color – Yellow) gets out of stock.
As per selection, combination (Size – M, Color – Yellow) will be the new default combination.
If admin selects Similar Combinations
If a default combination of a product gets out of stock. Then the combination containing the attributes similar to that of a default combination will be a new default combination.
As shown in the image above, the Combination: Size – L, Color – Yellow is now set as the new default combination as it contain attribute (Color – Yellow).
Set Default Combination On Basis Of
From here, the admin has to select the parameters based on which a new default combination for a product is selected.
If selected “First in Stock”, then a combination next to the default combination will be a new default combination if it is in stock. Suppose the first two combinations Size – S, Color – Yellow and Size – M, Color – Yellow is out of stock.
As per the selection, the combination in stock next to these two combination will be the new default combination.
If selected Highest or Lowest Quantity, then the combination with highest or lowest quantity will be the new default combination.
If the admin selects highest or lowest price, then most expensive or least expensive combination is set as new default combination.
Restore Previous Default Combination
If this option is enabled, the previous default combination is automatically restored as default combination once it is back in stock.
Whenever a default product combination gets out of stock, its record gets create in a separate “Default Combination Listing” tab. Under this tab, admin can view a list of products and their out of stock default combinations. If admin has disabled “Restore Previous Default Combination” field, then he has to manually restore the combination from this tab.
Previous default combination will be restore as current default combination on clicking restore button.
Set New Default Combination For Allow Orders
Suppose admin has enabled “Allow orders” under Availability Preferences of Combinations tab. This means even if a combination gets out of stock, then also admin can accept the orders for the same.
If admin has enabled “Set New Default Combination For Allow Order”, then in this case, a new default combination is set when current default combination gets out of stock.
Automatically change default combination
Enable this option in the case you want to automatically change the default combination when it goes out of stock.
Else, you can also keep it off.
Set new default combination if product default combination is out-of-stock
With this option you can set default combination for all your products whose default combination went out of stock.
Update default combination by cron
By enabling this option, the default combination will be changed through CRON when it goes out of stock.

i just bought your module for prestashop and i cant get it to work.
i sell boxes in different sizes. if the smallest box is sold out it should make the next cheapest box as default.
but it does not. it says sold out. i wanted to avoid this.
