INTRODUCTION
Cash on delivery is still one of the most popular payment choices in many countries. People still feel reluctant to share their credit/debit card information on a website. But this should not become a drawback for your Odoo website.
So, the Odoo Website COD Payment Acquirer module adds Cash on Delivery as the mode of Payment on the Odoo Website. The customers can now pay via cash for the orders.
The admin can set rules for availing COD facility on the Odoo website. Each transaction is noted in the Odoo with the reference to the Sales Order.

INSTALLATION
1.) Once you purchase the App from the Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
2.) Extract the file from your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘payment_cash_on_delivery’.
3.) Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4.) Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
5.) Then, open on Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.
6.) In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘payment_cash_on_delivery’.
7.) You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.
WORKFLOW
Configuring COD Payment Method
1.) Navigate through Website >> Configuration >> Payment Acquirer. Here click on COD (Cash On delivery).

2.) Click on the Edit button; then, under credentials, choose the COD applicability Rulel click on Create and Edit.

3.) On the Popup that appears; here you need to add the name of the Rule.

4.) Then, enter the min and maximum limit for the cart value for an order to be eligible for COD.
5.) You can also select the products to exclude from COD irrespective of the value of the cart using the ‘Exclude Products’ Field.
6.) To restrict the COD option to a country, state, or within a zip code, use the field under COD applicability.
7.) Click on ‘Add an item’; then on the popup, select the country followed by selecting the states. At last enter the zip codes at the bottom.

8.) If no country is selected, the COD will be available universally.
9.) Now, click on the configuration tab. Here you can set various options configurations as mentioned.

On the Website
10.) Now, go to the Odoo website. Click on Shop and open any product.
11.) You can see the COD availability message; now, add the product to the cart.

12.) Now, click on process checkout and follow the steps.
13.) On, the Payment page, you can now see COD as a payment method. Select the option and click on ‘PAY NOW’ to place the order.

14.) Now, click on process checkout and follow the steps to order.
Viewing Transaction History
15.) To view the online transactions in the Odoo backend, Activate the developer mode.

16.) Then, head to ‘invoicing menu and click on the Payment sub-menu. Click on the Payment transactions. Here, you can view the payment transactions made on the Odoo website including the mode of transaction.

17.) Moreover, the mode of payment is also visible in the sales order or quotation.
