Cash on delivery is still one of the most popular payment choices in many countries. People still feel reluctant to share their credit/debit card information on a website. But this should not become a drawback for your Odoo website.
So, Odoo Website COD Payment Acquirer module adds Cash on Delivery as the mode of Payment on the Odoo Website. The customers can now pay via cash for the orders.
The admin can set rules for availing COD facility on the Odoo website. Each transaction is noted in the Odoo with the reference to the Sales order.
- The module adds Cash on delivery as a payment method in Odoo website.
- The admin can configure the COD method in the backend.
- Allow your customers to make payments at the time of delivery.
- Buyer can check the COD availability at the product page.
- The Minimum and Maximum shopping cart value can be set to avail the COD option in an order.
- The admin can also restrict the COD payment method to selected countries, states or even zip codes.
- The admin can configure custom messages for COD availability, unavailability, and COD policies to be visible on the product page.
- A custom message appears while selecting COD for an order consisting of products without COD availability.
1.) Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
2.) Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘payment_cash_on_delivery’.
3.) Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4.) Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
5.) Then, open on Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.
6.) In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘payment_cash_on_delivery’.
7.) You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.
Configuring COD Payment Method
1.) Navigate through Invoicing >> Payments >> Payment Acquirer. Here click on COD (Cash On delivery).
2.) Click on Edit. Then, under credentials, choose the COD applicability Rule. Click on Create and Edit.
3.) On the Popup that appears, Choose the name of the Rule.
4.) Then, enter the min and maximum limit for the cart value for an order to be eligible for COD.
5.) You can also select the products to exclude from COD irrespective of the value of cart using ‘Exclude Products’ Field.
6.) To restrict COD option to a country, state or within a zip code, use the field under COD applicability.
7.) Click on Add an item. Then on the popup, select the country followed by selecting the states. At last enter the zip codes at the bottom.
8.) If no country is selected, the COD will be available universally.
9.) You can also allow the expected delivery date to be visible to the customer on the website. Click Save.
10.) Now, click on the configuration tab. Here you can set various options.
11.) Choose the Payment Journal.
12.) You would also need to publish the payment method on the website to make it available to the customers. Click Save.
On the Website
13.) Now, go to the Odoo website. Click on Shop and open any product.
14.) You can see the COD availability message and an expected delivery date. Add the product to the cart.
15.) Now, click on process checkout and follow the steps.
16.) On, the Payment page, you can now see COD as a payment method. Select the option and click on ‘PAY NOW’ to place the order.
Viewing Transaction History
17.) To view the online transactions in the Odoo backend, Activate the developer mode.
18.) Then, head to ‘invoicing menu and click on Payment sub-menu. Click on the Payment transactions.
19.) Here, you can view the payment transactions made on Odoo website including the mode of transaction and the concerned sales order.
20.) Moreover, the mode of payment is also visible in the sales order or quotation.
