Magento 2 Pinterest Product Share

The Magento 2 Pinterest Product Share extension will allow people to collect product images from your store on their Pinterest board. Users can see a Pinterest icon on the products while hovering over the products at the collection page and on the product page. Using this extension, anyone can share the image of the products on Pinterest with the image, URL, and description.

Features

  • Enable/Disable the Pinterest feature from the admin backend.
  • Set the alignment (Left/Right) of the Pinterest icon.
  • Select the Product Category for which the Pinterest icon will be visible on the front end.
  • User can hover over, the Pinterest icon which shall appear on the Product and Catalog pages of your website.
  • The Pinterest icon would appear on the products at the Search and Advanced Search pages.
  • Allowed users can pin product Images with URL and Description.
  • Increase your website traffic.
  • A Pinterest icon would appear on the products at the Wishlist and Compare product pages.

Installation

Customers will get a zip folder and they have to extract the contents of this zip folder on their system. The extracted folder has an src folder, inside the src folder you have the app folder. You need to transfer this app folder into the Magento 2 root directory on the server as shown below.

After the successful installation, you have to run these commands in the Magento2 root directory.

First command –

php bin/magento setup:upgrade

Third Command –

php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy

Fourth Command –

php bin/magento indexer:reindex

After running the commands, you have to flush the cache from the Magento admin panel by navigating through ->System->Cache management as shown below in the snapshot.

MultiLingual Configuration

For Multilingual support, please navigate. Store->Configuration->General ->Locale Options. And select your desired language from the Locale option.

Language Translation

If you need to do the module translation, please navigate the following path in your system app/code/Webkul/MagentoPinterest/i18n. Open the file named en_US.CSV for editing as shown in the below screenshot.

Once you have opened the file for editing. Replace the words after the comma(,) on the right with your translated words.

After editing the CSV file, save it and then upload it to the same folder. Now your module translation is complete.

Configuration – Magento 2 Pinterest Product Share

After the successful installation of the module, the admin will navigate to Stores->Configuration->Webkul->Pinterest Share->Pinterest Product Share Setting as shown below in the snapshot.

Here, the admin will be able to –

  • Enable or Disable the module functionality and
  • Set the alignment of the Pinterest logo at the front-end.
  • Select the required Product Category for which the Pinterest icon will be reflected over the front end, else not.

Note: without selecting any product category, the Pinterest icon is not visible on the front-end.

Workflow – Magento 2 Pinterest Product Share

After the installation of the module, it’s pretty easy to use it. The customers whilst hovering the products at the category page will be able to see a Pinterest icon on the product as shown below in the snapshot.

On the product wishlist page, the customer will see a Pinterest icon, as per the screenshot below:

Compare Products Page

The customer will be able to see a Pinterest icon on the compare product page as shown below in the snapshot:

The customers can find the Pinterest icon on the Product page as well as shown below in the snapshot.

Now, after clicking the visible Pinterest icon on the product or the category page a pop up will appear as shown below.

Click Ok to proceed further, this will open up a page where you have an option to register or login to Pinterest so that you can save this product image with URL and description to your Pinterest board.

If you are already registered, click on the login button and then just type in your email id, password and hit the login button as shown below.

After login, you will see a page where you can add this product image to your Pinterest board. Select a board to add this or you can also create a new board and then add this product image to it.

After adding the product image to your Pinterest board you can check your board. Here you will see all the products that you have added to the pinboard.

After clicking the pinned image, you can see the website Url of the product, a URL on the image to visit the product page along with the product description as shown below.
