The meet Magento is a series of events conducted by Magento globally. This year Webkul attended Meet Magento Dubai 2018 on 3rd and 4th September. At Meet Magento Dubai 2018 more than 600 attendees attended the event from more than 20 countries.
Team Webkul reached Dubai Dubai International Airport at late night 2nd September 2018. The flight was scheduled to depart from India at 7:05 PM IST and reached Dubai after 3.5 hours. After completing the immigration process headed towards our Hotel Holiday Inn Express Dubai which was pre-booked.
After checking in our hotel rooms we instantly got back to Dubai streets for sightseeing. We were excited to see Dubai without wasting any time. Dubai is a beautiful city and its unique and huge buildings really make it magnificent.
Webkul Experience at Meet Magento Dubai 2018
After some sightseeing, we headed toward the hotel as we had to attend the Meet Magento in the early morning. We woke up next day early and got ready for the Meet Magento. We left the hotel before and headed towards the Meet Magento which was at Westin Mina Seyahi Beach Resort.
We reached Westin Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and registered ourselves for the event. Then we entered their presentation room where the opening was done by Jonty Sutton ( Founder CEO Redbox Digital). After that, we attended a few presentations like Experience-Driven Commerce, Panel session on Challenging Role of Online Commerce.
Now it was a time for a networking coffee break and to introduce ourselves to other attendees and share our thoughts. We also met Gary Specter from the Magento team and exchanged our views.
After the break, the session started again and we attended different presentations and panel sessions, Delivery Model in MENA reason, Customer Personalization, Customer Engagement, etc. Webkul really understands the significance of customer support and personalization. Keeping that in mind we developed UVDesk a dedicated support system for the eCommerce industry.
There were many great talks and from different personals from different industries. After, that we headed towards lunch and met engaged with other people.
We also met Ben Marks (Magento Evangelist) and had a talk about the event, upcoming interesting sessions, etc.
Also, we met with many other speakers and shared goodies with them. It was a really great experience and exciting to meet different people from all over the worked and sharing thoughts with them.
After lunch, we attended different sessions like growth in omnichannel, opportunities for UAE merchants, multi-brand and multi-channel commerce, the role of AI in eCommerce, etc. After all these sessions, now the time was to close the day one of Meet Magento and Jonty Sutton from Redbox Digital delivered the closing speech of the day.
After that, we met a few more few more guys and left the venue around 18:00 hours. We reached our hotel and rested for a while.
We woke up the next morning, it was the Day 2 of Meet Magento Dubai. We left our hotel and reached Westin Mina Seyahi Beach Resort. We were a little late and when we reached Max Yekaterynenko (Sr. Director of Engineering – Magento) was going to start his session on Community Develops Magento2.
He provided information on Magento like Cache ACL, Graph QL, Import Export, etc. At the break time, we also had chat with him on the Contribution Day.
After that, we attended a panel session on Data Since Transforming Web Development which was moderated by Ben Marks. It was a great session to know how data science can be used to get better insights. I also tweeted for it which retweeted by many people Link.
Now, it was a time for a coffee break where we met PayPal guys. We had a discussion on their solutions and help that they can provide to our clients as we have many modules on PayPal.
After that we attended different inspiring sessions on “Getting Real will PWA”, Selling on Omnichannel, Security Conversation by Talesh Seeparsan. They were really great idea driven session for us as we are continuously developing PWA module and Mobile Applications on Magento.
After, all these great and inspiring talks and Panel Sessions the Meet Magento event was ended. We took some memmories with some of the speakers before leaving the venue.
