INSTALLATION

1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
2. Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘next_gen_image_converter.’
3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4. Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘next_gen_image_converter.’
7. You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

WORKFLOW

Let’s proceed to the Odoo Website WebP Image Conversion module configuration.

CONFIGURATION

1. Move to the ‘Website> Configuration> Settings’ after installation. Locate the ‘Webp Converter’ option and tick the box to enable it. Configure it by clicking ‘Change WebP Quality.’

2. Now, choose the Webp quality and hit the ‘Confirm’ button. After that, save the changes.

3. Move to the ‘Website> Products> Products’ sub-menu and hit the ‘Create’ button.

4. Enter the product details and upload a high-resolution large-size image in the product form. Once done, click the save button.

5.  On the website, the image quality will look the same. However, if you check it on inspect mode, you will find the image size drastically reduced. It happened because of the WebP conversion.
