How to Install Prestashop POS Barcode Inventory Management
For installing this module, you need to install the PrestaShop Point of Sale System (POS) module first.
- Firstly, go to the module manager in the back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
- After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
- In this way, the module installation will be successful.
General Configuration
Search by
This option enables the admin to select the parameters by which he can search the products. Admin can search the products by product ID, name, EAN/JAN, UPC, ISBN, and REF.
Barcode Search Type
In this field, the admin can select whether he wants to search the product by EAN/JAN, UPC, or ISBN using the barcode scanner.
Outlets Inventory
After the installation of the module, a new tab “Outlets Inventory” gets available in the Prestashop back office.
From this tab, the admin can search the product whose quantity he wants to update in the outlets.
When the admin searches for a product, the total available quantity of product in Prestashop and the quantity available in the retail outlets get displayed on the page as shown in the below screenshot.
From here, the admin can update the quantity of a product for the outlet.
Kindly note if the quantity entered by the admin for the outlets exceeds the total available quantity then an error “Insufficient Quantity” will display on the page. Let’s understand this with the help of an example.
Suppose the total quantity available for the product Hummingbird printed t-shirt, Size – S, Color – White is 255 and there are two outlets. The product quantity available in outlet 1 is 150 and in outlet 2 is 100. The total quantity of a product for the outlets is 250. Now, if the admin updates the quantity of outlet 2 to 106, then an error will display as shown in the below screenshot.
