Prestashop Advanced Restrict Payment Methods Pro: Payment methods are vital for every online eCommerce store as they support the transactions between businesses and clients.

It is the last advance of the sales process in an eCommerce store. Online retailers provide a number of payment options to the customers so they can choose the mode as per convenience.

Sometimes the online store owners need to restrict certain payment methods.

In the eCommerce bussiness, all the payment options are not suitable for every product. For example, you want to restrict cash on delivery payment option for products below $99.

But, in default Prestashop, you can enable or disable payment methods by currencies, customer groups, country restrictions, and carriers.

Which may not be enough to manage your payment process as per your business needs.

Thanks to Prestashop Advanced Restrict Payment Methods Pro module which helps you to create flexible conditions to limit the usage of certain payment methods.

With this extension, you can restrict payment methods based on products, categories, suppliers, brands, cart range, zip codes, product types, and time.

NOTE: Prestashop Advanced Restrict Payment Methods Pro module is compatible with PrestaShop multi-store feature.

• Restrict payment methods for specific products, categories, brands, and suppliers.
• Disable certain payment methods based on cart range and specific days & time.
• Restrict payment options depending on the zip codes.
• Hide payment methods for the product types – standard, pack, and virtual.
• Hide/restrict payment methods for specific customer groups in your Prestashop store. 
• Disable payment options for multiple products at once.
• Option to delete the restricted payment methods for cart, zip codes, and time ranges.
• Change the already restricted payment methods and restrict other payment options for products, categories, brands, and suppliers.
• Customers can view a list of payment methods available for the product on the product page.
• Set the custom message to be displayed under Payments on the checkout page.

• Firstly, go to the module manager in the back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
• After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
• In this way, the module installation will be successful.

Under “Payment Restriction Setting”, you can:

• Choose to display the payment message on the checkout page.
• Configure the message to display under Payment on the checkout page.
• Enable or disable the display of available payment methods on the checkout page.

After successful installation of the module, two new tabs, Payment Restriction and Group Wise Payment, become available under “Payment” in the back office.

From this tab, you can restrict payment methods based on:

• Brands
• Categories
• Supplier
• Product type
• Specific products
• Cart range
• Zip codes
• Time

Brand Restriction

Select the payment methods that you want to restrict for the brands. The payment methods you select will not be available for the products that belong to the brands.

Only the payment methods available for the products of the “Studio Design” brand are displayed on the product page.

Similarly, you can select the payment methods that you want to restrict for categories and suppliers.

Category Restriction

On the product page, the payment methods you have restricted will not display for the products that come under the selected categories.

Product Type Restriction

There are three product types (Standard, Pack, Virtual) in PrestaShop. With this extension, you can also restrict the payment methods for the product types of your PrestaShop store.

Specific Product Restriction

Restricting payment methods for individual products one by one can be tedious and time-consuming.

Prestashop Advanced Restrict Payment Methods Pro allows you to disable payment methods for multiple products at once.

Under the Specific Product Restriction tab, you can select the products for which you want to restrict the payment methods and then click on the Add Product button.

Similarly, you can restrict payment methods for another group of products.

Now, when the customer visits the product page, the payment methods restricted for the product will not be visible to them.

We can see in the above screenshot that the payment by check and bank transfer payment options are not visible on the product page, as they have been restricted for this product.

Cart Range Restriction

Under this tab, you can set the cart range for which you want to restrict the payment methods.

Also, you can configure whether the amount falling in the range should include tax, shipping, and discount.

After specifying the cart range, click on the Save button. Also, once added, you can choose to delete it.

Similarly, you can restrict payment methods for other cart ranges.

Now, if the cart value of the customer lies in the specified range, then the selected payment methods will not be visible to him on the checkout page.

Zip Code Restriction

Under this tab, you can specify the zip code range for which you want to disable the payment methods. Also, you can select a specific zip code and restrict payment methods for it.

After specifying the zip code range, click on the Save button. Also, once added, you can choose to delete it.

Similarly, you can restrict payment methods for other zip code ranges or zip codes.

Time Restriction

Under this tab, you can select the days and times for which you want to restrict the payment methods.

After selecting the days and time, click on the Save button. Also, you can remove the payment method restriction for specified days and time by clicking on the delete button.

You can also restrict payment methods for other days and time by clicking on “ADD TIME” button.

We can see in the above screenshot, Payments by check method is restricted between 15:35 – 19:30 on Wednesday and Thursday and Bank Transfer is restricted for Wednesday and Thursday.

If a customer adds a product into the cart and proceed to checkout say on Wednesday 16:00, then bank transfer payment option will be available for the product purchase.

Under this tab, you can restrict payment methods for specific groups of your Prestashop store.

On clicking “Add Group Payment,” a new form appears with the following options:

1. Cart Total – Specify the cart range for which you would like to restrict the payment methods.
2. Select Customer Groups – In this field, you can select the customer groups for which you want to restrict the payment methods.
3. Assign Payment Methods – Select the payment methods that you want to restrict for the customer groups.

After applying the restriction, you can view a list of customer groups and payment methods restricted for them under “Group Wise Payment”.

Also, you can enable/disable or change/delete the restricted payment methods.

As per the restriction set by admin, the “Payments by check” will not be visible to the customers who belong “Customer” group and whose cart total lies in the range of $10 – $50.
