User Guide for Odoo Sticky Notes

INTRODUCTION

Say goodbye to the hassle of memorizing minor details by using Odoo Sticky Notes! 

Memorizing minor and important things in the odoo form will be hectic and the chances of getting it missed are very high as the number of forms will keep increasing, so to overcome we introduced Odoo sticky notes.

It will not only organize the points which need to be included but also make users collaborate on the unique attribute in the form, especially in the product, product variants, sales orders, quotations, etc.

The Odoo Sticky Notes module makes users a simple and effective way to prevent missing important points. Placed conveniently at the top of each form, they ensure user-friendly activation.

 Just click on the Pin icon to add notes wherever needed. Odoo sticky notes are incredibly user-friendly, with easy customization options for font and background color. Users need to include a title and description in each note. 

In addition to its simplicity in usage, Odoo sticky notes offer an array of convenient features. One such feature is the ability to include relevant images or attachments in the description. 

By incorporating these points, Odoo sticky notes significantly contribute to improved productivity within the Odoo platform.

FEATURES

1. It lets users create a note for detailed information on the Odoo form to reduce brain burden.
2. Users can also add titles along with the description in the note.
3. It is easily customizable as users can change the text color and sticky note background color.
4. Users can drag the sticky note anywhere on the page.
5. Users can even add images to the note or attach a file related to the information present in the note.
6. This module facilitates users to share their notes with other users to convey the information.
7. After sharing the note, users can keep track of the viewers who have seen the note.
8. If no use, users can delete the sticky note anytime they want.

INSTALLATION

1. Once you purchase the App from the Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
2. Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘wk_sticky_notes.’
3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4. Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘wk_sticky_notes.’
7. You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

WORKFLOW

1. Once the installation is completed, go to the Odoo backend and open the app, where you want to create a note.
2. After that, open any form where you wish to add a note. For eg. product, product variants, sales orders, quotations, etc.

3. After that, click on the pin icon as shown in the screenshot below.

4. A new window will open. Here you can add a title and create a note. After that click on the ‘Save’ button.

5. You can customize the color and the font as per your choice.

6. After clicking on the ‘Save‘ button, you will be able to view your note pinned on the same tab. You can even drag and drop the note wherever you wish to pin it.

6. If you want to share the note, just click on the ‘share icon’ present on the sticky note and a new window will open. Here you can select the users to whom you want to share the note and click on the ‘OK‘ button. Your note will be shared.

7. If of no use, then you can delete the note by clicking on the ‘Delete’ icon present on the note.

8. Like this, your sticky note will get deleted.
