Installation
- Once you purchase the App from the Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
- Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. As a result, you will be able to see a folder named- ‘odoo_restrict_and_merge’
- Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
- Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
- Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’
- In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘odoo_restrict_and_merge’
- You will be able to see the module in the search results. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.
Workflow
- After installing the Odoo Restrict and Merge Duplicate Data module, go to Restrict Duplicacy here you can see the ‘NEW’ and ‘Find Duplicate Records’ options.
2. When you click on the “Find Duplicate” option, a small window opens where you can enter the criteria for finding duplicates. In this window, you’ll need to specify:
- Search By: Choose the field(s) you want to base your duplicate search on.
- Fields: Enter or select the specific fields (e.g., name, email, or other identifying fields) to be compared for duplicates.
After entering the required information, click on Fetch Duplicates.
3. After this, the data appears, showing Model, Fields, and Active columns. Click the checkboxes to select the lines you want. After selecting, click on ‘Show Selected Lines’
4. Next, select original lines, then click Proceed to continue.
5. After clicking Proceed, the “Delete Archive Merge” page appears with two options:
- Archive Duplicate Record
- Replace Duplicate Record with Original
Select the checkbox for your preferred action, then click Archive Duplicate Record to complete the process.
> Similarly, you can fetch duplicate data in Sales, Purchase, and Invoice records.
Below is an example for Sales:
(i) Clicking “Find Duplicate” opens a window to set duplicate search criteria. Choose the field(s) (e.g., name, email) under Search By and specify fields to compare. Then, click Fetch Duplicates.
(ii) The data displays columns for Model, Fields, and Active. Select lines using the checkboxes and click Show Selected Lines.
(iii) Next, select original lines, then click Proceed to continue.
(iv) After clicking Proceed, select Archive Duplicate Record or Replace Duplicate Record with Original on the “Delete Archived Merge” page, then click Archive Duplicate Record to complete.
6. You can set up a restriction by clicking New. Select the Model and Fields you want to restrict, enable the Active option, and save it. This will prevent duplicate entries for the specified data.
7. Click on Configuration and then select Recycle Records to view recycled records.
