INTRODUCTION

Restrict order view with Odoo POS View User Orders!

By default, Odoo POS displays all orders from every user’ to every other user. It is good because as motivates others to perform well. But, there is a negative side too, where users try to steal other users’ customers.

So how to avoid such unhealthy and dangerous competition among POS users?

To solve this, you need to restrict users’ access to view orders placed by other users. And to perform this action, you need to override the default Odoo functionality. Easy peasy correct!

No need to take a load Odoo POS View User Order will do this for you with just a few clicks, so you can sit back and enjoy. The module enables the admin to restrict and allow users to view only their POS orders in the back-end with a simple check-box in the user’s profile.

FEATURES

INSTALLATION

  1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
  2. Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘pos_view_user_orders.’
  3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
  4. Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
  5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
  6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘pos_view_user_orders.’
  7. You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

WORKFLOW CONFIGURATION

Now you are ready to restrict orders view according to the user. Here’s how:

1. Log in to your Odoo backend and go to the ‘Settings>User & Companies> Users.’

2. Open any User Profile (Example- Mitchell Admin)

3. After that, on the profile, go to the ‘Point of Sale’ tab and tick the checkbox next to the ‘Show User’s Orders Only’ and click the ‘Save’ button.

4. To test it out, now log in again with the credentials of that particular user (Mitchell Admin).

5. Once logged in, navigate to ‘Point Of Sale> Orders> Orders’ to view all the orders.

6. You can view the orders placed only from the POS session of this profile.
