INTRODUCTION
Odoo Geolocation IP Redirect: “Your Website, Their Language”
Odoo Geolocation IP Redirect improves user experience by automatically adjusting the website’s language and currency based on the visitor’s location.
This helps customers feel more comfortable and makes navigating the site easier, enhancing their engagement with the website.
Odoo Geolocation IP Redirect allows admin to configure multiple geolocation APIs, track their performance, and restrict access to specific IP addresses.

INSTALLATION
- Once you purchase the app from the Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the module zip file.
- After the download finishes, extract the file on your system. You will see a folder named ‘geo_location_ip_redirect.’
- Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
- Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
- Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
- In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘geo_location_ip_redirect.’
- The module will appear in the search results. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.
Workflow
- Firstly, login to the Odoo Instance, go to Settings, and then click on Website. After scrolling down to Geolocation IP Redirect enable it.
2. To configure the options for GeoIP, navigate to the Website >> Geoip.
3. You can map the country, by clicking on Country Mapping. Select the country from the drop-down menu and map it accordingly.
4. You can choose the redirect type either Internal or External.
5. By effectively utilizing internal and external redirection in Odoo Geolocation IP Redirect, you can create a more engaging and effective website.
6. When choosing the Internal Redirect type, the admin can select the country, pricelist, and language for that specific redirection.
7. The currency will automatically be set based on the selected country.
8. While choosing the External Redirect option, the admin can select the country and add the customer URL.
Visitors from the selected country will be redirected to the custom website URL.
9. You can also restrict users from specific countries by adding the IP Address or selecting the country as shown in the screenshot below.
10. You can add multiple GeoIP APIs for different websites. Make sure to validate the API response and ensure it is confirmed and active.
Note: If the API is not active, the website will display the default mapped country.
11. You can also view the API response and history once you have added the URL.
12. With Odoo Geolocation IP Redirect, customers can view the available mapped countries on the website, enhancing their browsing experience.
Customers from any mapped country will be redirected directly without seeing the pop-up.
While those from unmapped countries will be redirected to the default country selected by the admin in the Odoo backend.
13. Customers can view the list of available languages and select their preferred one.
