Odoo Birthday Reminder (Employees) is an Odoo module that sends a birthday greeting email to your users and employees on their birthday.

Remembering a birthday is a simple way to show your team that you care about them beyond sales targets and lead numbers.

Good relationships at work build trust and loyalty, and they help each employee feel like a real part of the team.

Odoo does not send these wishes by default, so this module lets a daily cron send them for you without manual work.

1. Send a birthday greeting email to Odoo users and employees on their birthday.
2. Choose who gets the greeting: All Users, Only Portal Users, or Employees.
3. Send greetings automatically through the daily cron scheduler.
4. Let the admin modify the email template and the cron scheduler.
5. Send the greeting a set number of days before the actual date.

1. Once you purchase the App from the Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
2. Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘birthday_reminder_hr’.
3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4. Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on the ‘Update Modules List’.
6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘birthday_reminder_hr’.
7. You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

The setup covers three parts in order: the event reminder, the greeting email template, and the daily cron scheduler.

1. Firstly, log in to the Odoo Instance and go to the Settings.

2. Go to ‘Reminder’ and click on ‘Birthday Reminder’.

In newer Odoo versions, such as Odoo 19, you will find this menu under Website > Reminder > Birthday Reminder.

3. Click on the ‘Create’ button to create a new Event Reminder.

4. Now, define the following fields, and then save the settings by clicking on the save button:
   • Event name
   • To whom you want to send the greetings (All Users, Only Portal Users, or Employees)
   • Enable/disable the reminder option
   • The particular Email Template which you want to send
   • The number of days before you want to send the greetings

5. Click on the ‘Email Template’ field, and it will redirect to the template page. Now, define the Template name, select to whom it will apply, define the content to be sent, email configuration, and advanced settings. Once done, click on the save button.

6. Click on the ‘Birthday Reminder’ field, and it will redirect to the ‘Cron Scheduler’ page. Here, you can check the details of the Cron scheduler. It will be executed every day.

The admin picks the group in the Send Greeting To field, and the options are All Users, Only Portal Users, and Employees.

Yes, the Birthday Reminder cron runs every day and sends each greeting on time without any manual step from the admin.

You can enter a number of days in the Send Greeting Before field, and the wish then goes out that many days early.

This module depends on Odoo Website Birthday Reminder, so you need to purchase that module along with this one.
