Mastering CSV Export in Akeneo: A Comprehensive Guide to Creating Export Profiles

2 – Creating Export Profile (CSV Export)

Do you want to manage the export in Akeneo without creating an export profile?

Let’s discuss how you can achieve it.

The user needs to go to Akeneo Dashboard. In the left menus bar, they can see the menu “Products“.

Once you will click on the Products then the product’s dashboard will open.

In the product grid, the user can select products. After the user will select the products, then they can see the menus at the bottom of the screen.

The user can click on the Quick Export Button and a new pop-up will open.

After that, you can select these options:

  • Grid Context – The user can export the products with the same Grid columns.
  • All Attributes – The user can export the products with all the attributes.
  • With Codes – The user can export the products with Attributes code.
  • With Labels – The user can export the products with Attributes Label.
  • With/Without Media – The user can export the products with/without media files(from asset collection, image, or file attributes).
  • UUID – The UUID is a Technical Product Identifier.

After you will click on the Export button, you can check the Message on the product grid.

The CSV file can be generated after clicking on the Top Right corner “Download Generated Files“.

Creating Export Profile (CSV Export)

On the Dashboard, in the left menu, the user can check the Export button.

After clicking on the Export button, the user can see all the export profiles that is created already.

The user can click on the Top Right corner “Create Export Profile” to create a new export profile.

A new pop-up window will be opened. The user can add these details.

1 – Code: The code will be unique for the Export profile. 

2 – Label: The label is used to identify the job easily that the user has created. 

3 – Job: The job needs to select to Export the data that the user wants. For example, if the user wants to import only products then the user can select the Job “Product Export in CSV”.

After this,  the user can click on the save button to save the profile.

The user can click on Global Settings. They will get these options in the configuration.

  • Decimal separator – It will define the character for the Decimal values.
  • Date format – The date format that the user wants to export in a CSV file.
  • Delimiter – The user can use the delimiter to separate the fields.
  • Enclosure – The user can use it to enclose the data in a CSV file.
  • With header – Define the first line column name in the CSV file.
  • Export mediaExport the media files with the products.
  • With labels – Export the attribute with the label.
  • With product UUID – Export with the Product Unique ID.

In the Export -> Content setting, we can Filter the Products and Data based on the various setting.

Channel – In Akeneo, the user can create multiple Channels. The channels are basically collections of locales to keep the multi-lingual data.

We can select only one channel in the export profile.

Locale – Once the user will select the channel, all the available locales in the channel will appear here. The user can select one or more than one locale to export the data.

Attributes – The user can select the attributes that they want to export in the CSV file.

After the data filter, the user can filter the products in Akeneo CSV Export Job.

Family

In this setting, the user can select a specific family to export the products. In Akeneo, the user can create multiple families.

Based on the families, we can create different types of products.

Status

The user can export the products based on the product status.

  • All – The user can export all the products from Akeneo.
  • Enable – The user can export the enabled products.
  • Disabled – The user can export disabled products.

Quality Score

In Akeneo, we can check the Quality Score of products in the product grid.

Export Quality Score(s) for

After the Quality Score will be selected, the option “Export Quality Score(s) for” will be enabled.

  • At least one locale – The user can select this option if the Quality Score is good for one locale.
  • All selected locales – The user can select this option if the Quality Score is good for all the locales.

Completeness

In the CSV Export, the user can filter the products based on completeness. The completeness tells us if the attribute values are completed in one locale or all the locales.

  • Complete on at least one selected locale – The products should complete in one locale.
  • No condition on completeness – The user can export all the products.
  • Not complete on all selected locales – If the products are not completed in the selected locales in the data filter.
  • Complete on all selected locales – The user can export the products for the completed locales.

Time Condition

In the CSV Export profile, the user can select the time condition to export the products.

If the user has already exported the products and now they want to export the products that are updated then they can use this filter.

  • Updated products over the last n days (e.g. 6) – The user can export the products updated since n days ago.
  • No date condition – The user can export all the products.
  • Updated products since this date – The user can export the products updated from a specific date.
  • Updated products since last export – The user can export the product updated since the last export.

Category

The Akeneo CSV Export profile provides the option to filter the products based on the categories.

The user can select one or more than one category in the filter option.

Identifier

In Akeneo CSV Export Profile, the user can filter the product based on the SKU. For example, if the user wants to export one product then they can use this filter.

Attribute Based

The products can be exported based on attribute values. For example, if the user wants to export products that contain “Shirt”. They can use this setting.

They can click on the Add Attribute button.

The selected attribute will be visible in the Filter option.

After completing the configuration, the user can click on the “Save” button.

The user can click on the “Export Now” button to export the products.

You can check the details in the Process Tracker.
