OVIS Online is a hardware supplier in the United States, and it has served the woodworking trade since 1989.
It calls itself a specialist in heavy duty drawer slides, woodworking supplies and cabinet organizers.
OVIS trades as a division of WIM Corp and sells direct from its own shop, which runs on Odoo.
Its catalogue holds thousands of part numbers, from drawer slides and hinges to veneers, abrasives and wood screws.
Buyers range from small cabinet shops to large plants. Among the firms it names as users are Boeing, Ford, Peterbilt and Tesla.
Because so many orders are trade orders, the shop also offers a quote request path for larger amounts.

OVIS ran its shop and back office on Odoo 16.That release kept drifting further behind current Odoo.
Webkul had already moved the firm from WooCommerce to Odoo ERP in an earlier project.
Years of custom work had built up since then. Ten custom modules sat on top of stock Odoo.
They covered product tabs, returns, payments, SEO URLs, country rules and order flows.
None of that carries over on its own, since a version jump changes the framework those modules are written against.
Product records, buyer accounts and order history had to survive the move whole.
So the real job was keeping a heavily shaped shop working just as before, on a new Odoo release.
Webkul moved the whole OVIS Online setup from Odoo 16 to Odoo 19.
Data and custom work went across together. Work began with a review of what the shop ran.
OVIS leaned on a mix of Webkul modules and project Odoo customization.
Each custom module gets checked against the new release before anything moves.
Webkul went through the ten modules running on Odoo 16 and confirmed what each one did for OVIS.
Four of them handle custom product tabs, general product tabs, RMA and SEO URL redirects.
Country rules, Braintree payments and Braintree refunds account for three more.
Webkul website addons, shop changes, and sales order and purchase order work close out the list.
That review set the order of the move and settled what had to carry forward.
Alongside the code, Webkul handled the data migration into the Odoo 19 database.
Product records, groups, buyer accounts and order history all had to land whole.
Since OVIS trades on a long list of part numbers, nothing in the live catalogue was rebuilt by hand.

Trade buyers need fitting detail before they order, so an OVIS product page shows far more than a short blurb.
Tabs such as Description, Accessories, Also In and More Details split up that detail.
Webkul’s custom product tabs work drives what each part shows in those tabs.

A second layer of general product tabs holds text that OVIS wants on every page, not per part.

Both came across to Odoo 19, so the product pages kept their shape.

Returns are a normal part of hardware supply, so OVIS runs an RMA process inside Odoo.

RMA stands for Return Merchandise Authorization, and it tracks a return from first request through to approval.
Webkul moved that flow to Odoo 19, so a return still travels the same path.
Card payments run through Braintree rather than a stock Odoo provider.
Webkul took the Braintree payment acquirer across to the new release.

The refund flow moved with it, so money still goes back through the same gateway.
Keeping both meant checkout and refunds did not change for staff or for buyers.
OVIS product pages still answer on legacy .aspx style web addresses. Those came from the site the firm ran years ago.
On Odoo 19, Webkul kept the SEO URL redirect and rewrite handling in place. Those old addresses keep resolving, rather than turning into dead links.
The website country restriction rules moved too, and they set where the shop is open for business.

OVIS had shaped its sales order and purchase order flows on Odoo 16. They matched how the firm quotes, buys and ships.
Webkul carried those changes into Odoo 19, rather than push the team back to stock Odoo behaviour.
The same holds for the wider eCommerce changes that shape how the OVIS shop looks and works.
OVIS Online now runs on Odoo 19 with the same shop front, the same custom features and the same data.
Its sales and buying teams kept the order flows they already worked in.
Buyers still get the product tabs, the returns process and the Braintree checkout they used before.
Old .aspx addresses still resolve, so the search standing the shop built up over the years stays put.
OVIS is also back on a current Odoo release, where fixes and new features land first.
