Amazing Joomla World Conference 2016, Vancouver #jwc16

Amazing Joomla World Conference 2016, Vancouver #jwc16

Well after a long seven days trip happy to get back home. Hope everyone has reached back safely. Now after travelling down from Vancouver to Delhi, I was just figuring out what could be the best adjective which fits this wonderful trip. It was our first Joomla World Conference where we got an opportunity to be among the community.

So, if I start with our journey from Delhi to Vancouver we had seven hours stopover at Hongkong airport. While exploring the airport with refreshments and a little nap, we were ready to board our next flight to Vancouver.

After 13 hours of long flight fully exhausted we reached Vancouver around 11:30 in the morning. A whole long day was ahead to explore the city. First, we started with some Indian food for our lunch. The streets did make us recollect few Karan Johar’s movies with colourful leaves scattered on the roads of Vancouver.
Haha!! Apart from jokes but yes the city is beautiful. The weather was being loved by us. With some shopping and roaming around, the day ends here with lots of excitement for tomorrow i.e. the first day of Joomla World Conference 2016.

Day 1 A walk of 10 minutes and we were at our destination, Sheraton Wall centre. The day started with delicious breakfast and registration process. Various general and breakout sessions were lined up after the Welcome keynote by Sarah Watz. Here are few instances of Day 1. Definitely it was a fantastic conference so far and it’s not over yet.

Day2 So the day started with breakfast and then back to back breakout sessions. We had a keynote session by Eric Kaun and Kevinjohn Gallagher. The sessions were about Contribution of AMP projects and Saving the web…one page at a time. We were also glad to have words with few of the community members. Check out the instances.

Day3 The last day of the conference. By this time the conference has clearly displayed everyone around the world a broader picture of “why” and “how” we Joomler’s work. It is being long 6 years we are working with Joomla. Already more than 150 extensions are available in JED. But this meet has surely made us more focused and determined related in terms of serving the end user. We were also happy to know the objectives of “Future of Joomla”. The keynote session of Marco Gings had definitely displayed a larger and bigger picture of upcoming Joomla.
Being a Business Development Executive, the three days multi-sessions have provided alternative ways to use and deal with Joomla.

So around 5 pm, we had our last keynote i.e. “The Closing Session” by Sarah Watz. This undoubtedly made everyone realised sitting in the room that we are the most powerful community of all times. The people engagement was the most magnificent part and probably the motive of gathering from all around the world. We look forward getting ourselves more involved with the community in the upcoming future and contribute as much as we can.
The session ended with distribution of jackpots. And we were lucky to win VR and Ipad. Lastly, I thank you for giving us such a delightful experience.
