Formatre S.R.L. is an Italian firm that designs, makes and sells pasta-making tools under its Pastidea brand.
Its core product is the pasta extrusion die, the bronze or POM disc that gives fresh pasta its shape.
The range runs to more than 200 shapes, cut for home machines such as Philips, Kenwood and KitchenAid.
Every die is made in Italy and passes a quality check before it ships.
The firm began in 2016 as a small online shop run out of a garage.
Ten people work there today, and Pastidea now runs both the workshop and worldwide shipping in-house.
Formatre needed one live stock position shared by the workshop, the buyers and the online shop.
Dies often ran out in the workshop while the website still showed them in stock.
Buyers were let down, and orders reached the bench that nobody could ship on time.
Matching custom work to shipping was the harder problem.
Many Pastidea dies are cut to order or made in small batches.
Without a shared system, that meant manual checks and room for human error.
Other tools sat around the edges too, such as a stand-alone app used only to log attendance.
Formatre turned to Webkul, an official Odoo partner, to set up and tailor Odoo across the firm.
Webkul rolled out Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, Shopfloor, Accounting and Employees for seven users on Odoo.sh.
The scope ran end to end, from a customer order to a finished die leaving the store room.
Webkul joined quotes, sales orders, purchase orders and billing so each step reads the same record.
Buyers can now see what the workshop needs before they raise a purchase order.
The accounts team draws on those same figures, so nobody keys the numbers twice.
Webkul set up stock tracking that updates as goods move in, out and through the workshop.
Shopfloor gives the team a screen showing the work in front of them.
Because the counts are right, the shop no longer promises dies that nobody holds.
Webkul built a bill of materials (BoM) for each of the die ranges Pastidea makes.
A works order then pulls its parts and its job steps from that BoM.
Traceability now follows a die through its work orders rather than a spreadsheet.
That matters most on the industrial dies, which are cut to a buyer’s own line.
Pastidea takes its retail orders through a WooCommerce shop.
Webkul built the WooCommerce-Odoo integration that ties that shop to the back office.
Web orders are grouped and pulled into Odoo without anyone copying them across.
An item that is out of stock now flags the production team, who can move that die up the queue.
Stock changes travel back to the shop, so buyers see what the store room holds.
Picking and shipping run off that same order, so parcels leave sooner and with fewer mix-ups.
Managers can also follow how the supply chain is doing, from the bench to the courier.
Pastidea also sells on Amazon.
Those orders reach the same system through Odoo’s own Amazon connector.
Stock stays level between Amazon and the warehouse, which stops the brand from overselling.
The Employees app took over attendance from the stand-alone tool the team had used.
Clock-ins now sit beside the records the rest of the firm already works from.
One app fewer also means one bill fewer and one less place to look.
Webkul handles the custom development, while Odoo Studio lets the team make smaller changes itself.
That split keeps quick tweaks in-house and leaves the deeper work to Webkul.
Formatre had been running Odoo on a self-hosted third-party server.
That setup brought trouble with uptime, upkeep and upgrades.
The system now sits on Odoo.sh, Odoo’s own managed cloud.
Webkul has handled the same shift for other makers, including an Odoo.sh migration for a snack producer.
Formatre now runs the workshop, stock, buying, accounts and web orders from one Odoo system on Odoo.sh.
The firm reports that roughly half of its former manual work is now automated.
Works orders once got hard to handle past ten different products.
They now carry hundreds of line items, which matters most to the B2B reseller network.
Staff also finish the same workload inside normal hours instead of on overtime.
Each team can see what the next one is doing, so less time goes on chasing an answer.
Formatre is now weighing up more Odoo apps for other parts of the firm.
Its flexibility allows us to tailor the system to our needs, either through custom development or by using Odoo Studio to make adjustments ourselves with ease.
