AI Category Prediction for OpenCart: This extension helps the Store Owner to create a category for the product based on its images. Once the store owner uploads the image of a product, it recommends some predefined categories as result for that product based on its image.

This module is using the Artificial Intelligence technique to predict the category by using the product image. With the help of this module, the admin does not need to create categories each and every time for a new product as it automatically recommends the category for a particular product from its uploaded image. Admin just needs to select the suggested categories and the product will get assigned to this category.

Installation: AI Category Prediction for OpenCart

The installation of AI Category Prediction for OpenCart for Opencart is very simple. First, extract the downloaded zip file. After that, open the correct Opencart Version Folder. According to Opencart Version installed in your system.

Then, upload the admin folder in the Opencart root directory.

Once you have uploaded the file then login to admin and go to Extensions > Installer and upload the .zip file- category_predication.ocmod.zip. The zip file can be found in the ocmod folder for 3.x.x.x version and .xml file for 2.x.x.x version.

After uploading the zip file go to the Extensions > Modifications and click on the refresh field.

After that, go to System > Users > User Groups. And then edit ‘Administrator’. Select the shown checkboxes for both Access Permission and Modify Permission and Save it.

Now navigate to Extensions > Extensions > Modules. Find Category Prediction from the list. Click the Install button as visible in the screenshot below.

After the successful installation of the extension AI Category Prediction for OpenCart. To configure the extension. Firstly, in the sidebar menu go to Extensions > Extensions > Modules.

Further, click on the edit button next to Category Prediction for OpenCart.

Here, the admin has to enable the status of the module and enable the Top option. If the Top option is enabled at the time of category creation then the new category will be added to the top of the menu bar in the front-end view.

Module Workflow: AI Category Prediction for OpenCart

The Admin can use this extension at the time of adding a new product or editing the existing product. When the admin uploads the image of the product AI will provide some recommendations for the category selection as shown below:

Here, After selecting the category from the suggestions admin will see two options Add and Add & Select in front of the selection to add the category.

Add: By clicking the Add button, the system adds the category to the catalog section under categories, meaning it only creates a category.

Add & Select: By clicking the Add & Select button, the system adds the category to the catalog section under the category option and assigns it to the product.

NOTE: If a suggested category already exists then by clicking on Add & Select the existing category will be assigned to the product as a duplicate category cannot be imported.
