Vehicle Parts Finder for WooCommerce module helps customers to search and find the right parts for their Vehicles on the online store.

The vehicle Part Finder module also provides drop-down menu options for quickly finding the right parts for your vehicle.

The admin can also add the Parts Finder on the different layouts according to their needs. Using this module, customers can search for parts on the online store.

Various options are provided to the store admin for managing the Vehicle Part Finder module.

Installation

The user will get a zip file that he has to upload in the “Add New” menu option in the WordPress admin panel.

For this, login to WordPress Admin Panel then Under the Dashboard, hover your mouse over the “Plugins” menu option which brings out a Sub-Menu then select the “Add New” option.

After this, you will see an option on the top of your page that is “Upload Plugin”, Now clicks the option to upload the zip file.

By clicking on the “Upload Plugin” option, below that you will see a button “Choose File” click on the button to browse for the zip file as per the snapshot below.

After browsing the file, click the “Install Now” button to install the plugin as per the snapshot.

Now when the plugin is installed correctly, you will see the success message & an option to activate the plugin.

Henceforth, click on “Activate Plugin” to activate the installed plugin.

Configuration

The store administrator can manage the global settings and visual appearance of the Part Finder. Navigate to Webkul WC Addons -> Vehicle Part Finder and click on the Configuration tab in the subheader.

Here, the admin can configure the following global settings and customization attributes:

  • Enabled: Toggle this option (Enable/Disable) to turn the frontend Part Finder search capability on or off globally.
  • Background color: Set the background container color of the Part Finder interface (uses a hex color picker).
  • Dropdown background: Customize the background color for the dropdown fields.
  • Border color: Choose the border frame color surrounding the search box.
  • Title color: Specify the font color of the widget’s title.
  • Text / label color: Adjust the font color of the select labels and text inside dropdown inputs.
  • Button / accent color: Define the background color of the search action button.
  • Corner radius (px): Set the corner border-radius curvature of the widget layout box (e.g., 8px).”

How to Show Partfinder on Any Page

To embed the Part Finder on any page or post using WordPress Gutenberg

Navigate to Pages -> Add New (or edit an existing page).

Enter the title of the page.

Click the ‘+’ block inserter and search for the Shortcode block.

Paste the shortcode [wkvpf_part_finder_list] into the text input area.

Click Publish or Update. The Part Finder is now embedded on the front end of that page.”

Enter the page name, then add an element to insert the shortcode “[wkvpf_part_finder_list]”. After that, paste the shortcode into the element

Now, the page has been successfully created with the Partfinder displayed as configured

To manage and create Part Finders, navigate to Webkul WC Addons -> Vehicle Part Finder from the admin sidebar. This displays the main Part Finder List page.

On this page, the store owner can view all created search widgets in a listing table containing the following fields:

  • Name: The admin-defined title of the Part Finder.
  • Shortcode: The WordPress copyable shortcode tag (e.g., [wkvpf_part_finder_list]) with an adjacent quick-copy button.
  • Category: The assigned WooCommerce category filters.
  • Status: Active status (Enabled or Disabled).
  • Created Date: The timestamp of creation.”

When you click the Add Part Finder button, the plugin opens a redesigned 3-Step Wizard.

In Step 1: General, configure the basic settings:
Enable Part Finder: Set the toggle to Enabled to activate the widget.
Part Finder Name: Enter the name for the Part Finder widget (shown in lists and widget setups).
Categories: Select one or multiple WooCommerce categories that this Part Finder will query and display on.

The admin will need to fill in the Drop-Down name, Option List Sorting(display order at the front end), and can set the drop-down as required or not by selecting “Yes” or “No”.

Assigning Products & Mapping Values

In Step 3: Assign Products, map search dropdown options directly to your catalog:
1. Search for products in the search bar and select them to add them to the finder list.
2. The added products will be displayed in the listing table below.
3. Click the Edit link under the Action column for a product row to open the Product Mapping Modal overlay.
4. Inside the modal, choose or enter the specific dropdown values (e.g., Brand: Giant, Color: Black, Model: Mountain Bike) that correspond to this product.
5. Click Save in the modal to apply the option mapping.
6. Click the final Save button at the bottom of the wizard to publish the Part Finder configuration.”

From there admin can select the specific dropdown values for the products. And then Save the respective Part Finder

The selected products will be shown on the front end when a customer selects the same values on the part finder as set by the admin. After configuring the part finder, Click on the” Save ” button.

Customer End Frontend Experience

Once the Part Finder is embedded, customers can use the dropdown search widget to find parts easily:
– Customers select values from the fields. Choices in the next dropdown will dynamically adapt based on parent values (e.g., selecting Model updates automatically based on the selected Brand).
– Only options with matching catalog products are selectable, preventing empty search results.

– Clicking the ‘Find Product’ button displays a list of matching items (e.g., ‘Forest Bike Bull’) on the search results page.

The customer can use the Part Finder created by the admin. The dropdown options will remain the same if that category has any product for that particular search, as shown below:

To place the Part Finder in sidebars or widgetized areas:
1. Navigate to Appearance -> Widgets from the WordPress dashboard.
2. Search for the ‘Part Finder: Search Products’ widget.
3. Drag the widget to the desired sidebar or widget area.
4. Configure the widget settings:
– Title: Header title displayed above the widget.
– Choose Part Finder: Select which Part Finder configuration list to display (e.g., Bicycle or Tyre).
– Display on page: Select where the widget is shown (Global, Category page only, or Specific categories).
5. Click Save or Update.

Now you can view the section to add the widget in the sidebar

Now, click on the “Add” button and search for “Part Finder”

Once the widget is successfully added, the Part Finder will be visible to customers on the frontend.
