Display Vendors on Category Page for Magento 2

Updated 11 March 2024

Magento 2 Display Vendors on Category Page helps the admin to add an option to select the vendors for a particular category in the category display settings as “Sellers Only” and an additional vendor grid.

So, only those sellers who have the products of that particular category in their product collection will appear on the seller’s (vendor) grid.

At the front end, when customers click on the category for which the admin option “Seller Only” is selected, and customers can view the list of sellers instead of their products.

And customers can even view the vendor collection page displayed on the category page by clicking on it. So, this extension will allow customers to view the list of sellers.

Important Note – This module is an add-on to the Magento 2 Marketplace module. To use this module, you must have installed the first Magento 2 Multi Vendor Module.

You can watch the video tutorial below to know the extension workflow:

  • Customers can view the vendors in the selected category.
  • Customers can click on the vendor in the selected category to view the collection page.
  • Admin can display sellers for each category.
  • The admin can select the sellers in the category because that will be displayed to the customer.
  • The admin can also manage the configurations to display the Rating, Order Count, and Product Count for the seller on the frontend.
  • The extension is compatible with GraphQL.
  • The extension is compatible with the Hyva Theme.

Customers will get a zip folder and they have to extract the contents of this zip folder on their system. The extracted folder has an src folder, inside the src folder you have the app folder.

You need to transfer this app folder into the Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce) root directory on the server as shown below.

After the successful installation, you have to run these commands in the Magento 2 root directory:

First Command-

php bin/magento setup:upgrade

Second Command-

php bin/magento setup:di:compile

Third Command-

php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy

After running the commands, you have to flush the cache from the Magento admin panel by navigating through System > Cache management as shown below.

Configuration for Multilingual Support

For multilingual support, the admin will navigate through Store > Configuration > General > Locale Options and select the locale as German (the language into which the admin wants to translate his store content).

If a user wants to translate their module from English to German then they need to follow the path /app/code/Webkul/MpShowSellerOnCategoryPage/i18n in their unzipped folder and will get a CSV file with the name “en_US.csv”.

But now they will rename that CSV as “de_DE.csv” and translate all right side content after the comma in the German language.

After editing the CSV, save it and then upload it to the path /app/code/Webkul/MpShowSellerOnCategoryPage/i18n where they have installed Magento 2 on the server.

The module will get translated into the German Language and supports both RTL and LTR languages.

The user can edit the CSV like the image below.

Admin Management: Category Vendor Sellers

The admin can set the display setting and select sellers for the particular category by navigating through Catalog >Categories

After the Category page opens up, the admin can view all the categories.

Further, the admin can configure the Display Settings and Select Sellers sections for the particular category.

Initially, the admin needs to Enable the Category and set Include in Menu as Yes and set the Category Name.

Thereafter, under Display Settings, the admin can choose Sellers Only against the Display Mode field as shown in the image.

Further, under the Seller in Category section, the admin can choose the sellers from the table, that would be visible in the front end under a particular category.

Sellers in Category

In this, the admin can select the sellers for the particular category.

The admin may select the sellers in the category that will be displayed to the customer.

Seller Details on Category Page – Admin End

The admin can also display some other seller details like Rating, Product count, order count on the category page. For this the seller will navigate to Stores > Configuration > Marketplace > Show Seller on Category Page.

Further, the admin will set the fields Show Rating, Show Product Count, and Show Order Count to Yes.

Seller Details on Category Page – Frontend

Once the backend configurations are done, the customer can see the same shown frontend category page as shown in the image below:

Seller Details on category Page

Note: For this, it is really important to manage the Display Settings, and Sellers in Category under the respective Category by navigating Catalog > Categories before implementation.

Category – Customer View

When customers click on the category for which the “Seller Only” option is selected by the admin, they can view the list of vendors instead of their products. Customers can view the vendors in the chosen category.

This type of functionality is very useful because the structure of the marketplace is massive. Where there are multiple sellers dealing with a lot of products.

Customers can click on the vendor in the category they have chosen to view the collection page.

Customers can even view the vendor collection page displayed on the category page by clicking on it.

So, the customer can view Sellers Collection Page by clicking on the ” View Collection Page” as per the below image-
