    Complete User Guide for Odoo POS Fast Loading

    INTRODUCTION

    Odoo POS Fast Loading, another name for efficiency and speed!

    Odoo POS Fast Loading- While purchasing products, the system loading and processing should be fast, so the order is processed efficiently. And this system should be robust so it can handle large numbers of customers and products easily.

    Customers need faster processing and time efficiency, so their checkout is quick and convenient. Also, the system should be robust enough to handle 100,000 products and 100,000 customers at the same time without lagging.

    With Odoo POS Fast Loading, you can make your POS load 80x faster and make product and customer handling efficient. Further, this system stores cache, so for the next time, it loads even more speedily. Additionally, data handling and storage also become cost-effective.

    1. The module helps to load the POS session 80 times faster in comparison to the default POS loading time.
    2. Cache support on Browser for fast loading time.
    3. Can handle 100,000 products and 100,000 customers on the go.
    4. Load Product from the cache to make the POS more synchronized.
    5. Manually Sync the POS data to a database (PostgresDB or MongoDB).
    6. Changes made to products will auto-sync into the database (MongoDB or PostgresDB).
    7. Real-time sync and Additional Product and Partner fields to Odoo POS.
    8. Every data update and the record is saved in Odoo.
    9. Changed data syncs in a running POS session.
    10. This module uses MongoDB or PostgresDB to store and upload data to Odoo POS.

    INSTALLATION

    1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
    2. Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘pos_fast_loading’.
    3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
    4. Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
    5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.
    6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘pos_fast_loading’.
    7. You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

    WORKFLOW CONFIGURATION

    1. Open the POS in your system, go to ‘Configuration’ and then choose ‘POS Fast Loading Setup’.

    2. On the new page, click the ‘Create’ button.

    3. Now, choose the ‘Load POS Data From’ (Database) Mongo or Postgres. The image below shows the case of Postgre DB, which uses existing data.

    4. On choosing ‘Mongo’ DB, you need to enter the ‘Host’ URL and ‘Port’ addresses.

    CHOOSING POS SYNCING OPTION

    5. Also, choose ‘POS Synching’ from the given options.

    5.1. Real Time Update: On choosing this option, changes will automatically sync in the POS after every one or two minutes.

    5.2. Apply changes On Reloading: The changes will sync automatically when the page reloads.

    5.3. Only Notify When Changes Occur: The users will see a ‘refresh’ icon in the menu bar by which they can sync the change by tapping that option.

    5.4. The POS will show the ‘Refresh’ icon as shown in the image below when the user chooses the ‘Only Notify When Changes Occur.’

    CHOOSING DATA FIELDS FOR UPDATE

    6. Now, go to the ‘Data Fields’ tab and choose All Partner Fields’ if you want to load all the partner fields at once. Odoo POS will load all the default fields, but if you require to load some other fields, choose the ‘Additional Partner Fields’ option.

    6.1. Last Modified On, Active, Active Lang Count, Next Activity Deadline, Activity Exception Decoration, Icon, and Activities. All these are additional fields that will only load when you select any one of them.

    7. On checking the box next to ‘All product fields,’ all the product fields will load faster. Moreover, on choosing the ‘Additional Product Field,’ you need to select any of the below-listed options so POS can load it with default fields.

    7.1. Last Modified On, Accessory Products, Account Tags, Active, Next Activity Deadline, Activity Exception Decoration, and Icon. You can choose any of the following to be updated along with the default POS fields.

    SYNCING PRODUCTS, CUSTOMERS, AND PRICELISTS

    8. Once done, click the ‘Save’ button. Below the ‘Edit and Create’ button, you will see the three buttons performing the following functions:

    8.1. Sync Products- This button will let you sync all the updated products.

    8.2. Sync Customers- With this button, you can sync the changes/ updates in customers.

    8.3. Sync Pricelists- This will sync the changes or updates in the pricelists.

    9. On choosing any of the three options, a similar popup will appear on the screen with a different message telling you the number of synced products, customers, and pricelists.

    10. On clicking the ‘close’ button, the POS fast loading is already integrated into the system and will automatically take effect.
