More than 2500 food products are sourced from Almería and Andalusia directly from the local producer and delivered.

Its a one stop shop for customers who are looking for organic, natural, gourmet, vegan, traditional, local, chemical-free, artisan products.

In this case study, we will explore how Gala improved order management by using PrestaShop Development Services.

Daily Essential Products eCommerce Market in Spain

According to ECDB, the Spanish grocery market is predicted to reach US$2,054.3 million by 2024. It accounts for 5.7% total eCommerce in Spain and is expected to increase over the next years.

With the convenience and ease of online shopping, the market has been experiencing a steady growth. Due to busy lifestyles and long working hours, many consumers are looking for ways to simplify their daily routines and prefering to shop for groceries from home.

Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the shift towards online shopping, as consumers have become more cautious about visiting physical stores.

Custom Requirements of Client

Gala has a large base of manufacturers registered with them who provides products on the marketplace.

An online marketplace allows customers to buy products from different manufacturers.

Sometimes, processing and managing an order that contains multiple products belonging to different manufacturers in a single checkout session can be a complex task.

To overcome this problem, Gala needed a functionality that allows manufacturer-wise ordering in their store.

Our team understood the requirement and integrated a functionality in their store that split orders based on manufacturer products.

This means if a customer has order 3 products from 3 different manufacturers, then three different orders will generate with different order IDs but same order reference. Also, customers get to choose different shipping methods for manufacturer products.

Conclusion

Incorporating manufacturer wise checkout feature Gala improve the order management in their marketplace. As the order splits into different IDs, the admin can manage the ordered items in a much easier way.
