Guide for WooCommerce POS RFID Card Add-On

WooCommerce POS RFID Card add-on offers functionality to the customers to make payments for the items purchased at POS using their RFID cards.

The customers will have to tap the card on RFID Card Reader device to make the payment.

The POS agent can search for customers by using their RFID card and can even register or check the amount of their card.

This plugin is an add-on to WooCommerce POS System. So you need to download the WooCommerce Point of Sale System first.

Features- WooCommerce POS RFID Card Add-On

  • Customers can pay using their RFID Cards at the POS counter.
  • The POS Agents can add or update the RFID cards.
  • POS sales agents can even check the balance of the card.
  • The store admin can add or update the RFID.
  • POS agents can search for customers using their RFID Cards.
  • The store admin can view all the RFID transactions from his dashboard.
  • The admin can debit or credit the amount to the RFID card of the customer.
  • The store admin can also export the RFID transactions from their end and can download the statement for particular dates.
  • The customers will receive emails every time for each transaction.
  • The customer will also receive a statement for their transactions at the end of every month.

This module is now compatible with WooCommerce’s new High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) feature.

Installation

The admin will get a zip file that needs to be uploaded in the “Add New” menu option in the WordPress admin panel.

So, for this login to WordPress Admin Panel, and in the Dashboard hover your mouse over the “Plugins” menu option and select the “Add New” option.

After this, the user will see an option on the top of the page that is “Upload Plugin”, click the option to upload the zip file.

On clicking the “Upload Plugin” option, the user will see a “Choose File” button. Thus, click on the button to browse for the zip file as per the image below.

After browsing the file, click on the “Install Now” button to install the plugin as per the snapshot.

Once the user installs the plugin, a message “Plugin installed successfully” displays, and an “Activate Plugin” is visible to activate the plugin.

So, the user needs to click on the “Activate Plugin” button to activate the plugin.

Admin Configuration

After successful installation, the admin can configure this under WooCommerce > Settings > Payments>POS RFID Reader Gateway.

Now, the admin will enable the plugin to configure it. Here, the store admin will make the following configurations:

Default Gateway- The admin has to select the checkbox to make the POS RFID Reader Gateway the default payment method via POS.

Description- Here, the admin can enter the description that will be displayed to the customer during checkout.

Default Amount-The store admin can enter the default amount here.

Moreover, the admin can add and update the RFID of the customers by navigating through Users>All Users. The list with username, name, email, role, and Manage RFID options will display.

When the admin clicks on Add RFID button, a popup will appear. The admin will tap the customer’s RFID card and can add the customer’s RFID and credit points here as shown below.

The store admin can even credit or debit the amount to the customer’s RFID card.

Likewise, the store admin can update the RFID of the customers. For this the admin has to click on the Update RFID button.

Tap the customer card then a popup will display as shown in the screenshot.

The store admin can make all the configurations for the RFID transactions by navigating through RFID Management> Settings.

Transaction Email- The transaction email can be enabled or disabled from here.

Statement Email- Statement email status can also be changed by the admin from here.

Max LImit to add points -The limit to add points can be set by the admin.

All the RFID card transactions will be visible to the admin by navigating through RFID Management>Transaction Log. The admin can view the RFID transactions by searching through customer names or RFID.

All the transactions can be exported by the admin with the Export XLSX option present at the top right corner as shown in the screenshot.

A pop-up will appear with a download button to download the statement for the selected date. Once the admin clicks on the download button.

The transaction statement will get downloaded as shown in the below image.

Note: The customers will receive an email at the end of every month for all the transactions.

Customer View

From My Account section, customer can view their recent orders, manage their shipping and billing addresses, and edit their password and account details.

It is visible as per the image below,

Now, they tap on My RFID which contains the payment information of the RFID card.

Addtionally, Customer clicks on Settings to view further RFID card configurations such as,

  1. Enable Limit Field – Enabl this checkbox to display transaction limit fields.
  2. Block your card – Enable this checkbox to block the RFID card.
  3. Enter the transaction limit amount per transaction: Field to set the per transaction limit
  4. Enter Transaction limit amount per day transaction: Field to set the per day transaction limit.

By hovering over the card, it displays the amount remaining in the RFID card as per the below image,

Now, the image below shows that the amount in the RFID card is currently 0.

To top up the RFID card, enter the required amount and tap on Add Amount as per the below image,

Further, tap on Add Amount, which redirects to the Cart section for further process,

To proceed to the next step the customer clicks on Proceed to Checkout,

Now, they fill out the necessary details and tap on Place Order to proceed with the payment. Once, payment is done, Order details is displayed.

Going further, if the administrator sets additional limits on adding amount to the RFID card, a popup is displayed alerting the customer, when the customer tries to add an amount exceeding the limit.

The below image is from the customer’s interface where the user has the FRID amount through which user can use it for shopping purpose.

When the POS agent will click on the button, a popup will appear and the agent will tap the card to add the RFID.

The POS users can view the RFID and amount of the customer in their profile as per the screenshot.

The POS agents can also update the RFID of any customer by clicking on the Update RFID button.

By clicking on the button a popup will appear and the agent will tap the card to update the RFID as displayed in the image.

Furthermore, the POS agent has to enter the billing amount and select the RFID Card Payment as a payment method.

The payment will take place by clicking on Confirm and Generate Invoice button and the customer will have to tap the card on the RFID card reader device.
