Managing pharmacy is not easy as it seems. There are many aspects of a pharmacy. You not only need to handle the sales, but you also have to manage the invoices, inventory, and much more. Further, the pharmacy can show additional details about the medicine, which can ease finding alternatives and information about one.

To extend Odoo POS boundaries and redefine the functioning for pharmacy management, we create Odoo POS Pharmacy Management. With this module, you can efficiently sell and manage the pharmacy inventory. Moreover, the module adds a new menu in the Odoo POS module. Also, it allows you to create different details like doctors, manufacturers, salts, salt units,  medicine, usage, side effects, etc. 

In addition, you can easily enable or disable any feature from the backend. Configure features like advanced filter, delete cart, default view, toggle menu, and more.

FEATURES

1. Odoo POS Pharmacy Management enables you to create medicine (products).
2. It allows you to add details like usage, side effects, salt composition, salt unit, and more.
3. You can also manage multiple units of measure (UOM).
4. Use advanced search to filter out products easily.
5. Configure every setting, like an advanced filter, clear order lines, pos color, etc. from the backend.
6. The Odoo app additionally delivers an intensified user interface for easy navigation.
7. It adds a medicine information button over the product image in Odoo POS.
8. The information button opens a popup that shows every product’s detail.
9. The Odoo app allows the launching of a secondary customer screen from the Odoo POS.
10. It further adds a Quickpay option for smooth and swift payments.
11. The Odoo app shows alternate medicine and salts details in the information popup.
12. In the POS Session, set the default product view (grid or list).
13. Moreover, the module shows product images in the order line (if configured from the backend).
14. Specify what details to show in the information popup.
15. In addition, specify deleting/emptying the cart with a click by using the cancel or trash can icon.
16. Choose the desired color for the Odoo POS from the palette to match your store theme.
17. Add the doctor’s name to the POS receipt identical to adding a customer, which will appear in the Odoo backend.
18. Add products to the cart by dragging and dropping them in the cart section.

INSTALLATION

1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
2. Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘pos_pharmacy_management.’
3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4. Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘pos_pharmacy_management.’
7. You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

WORKFLOW

Moving on to the configuration of the Odoo POS Pharmacy Management.

CONFIGURATION

1. Go to the POS module and open ‘Configuration> Settings.’ Now, locate the ‘Pharmacy’ settings and enable the following.

Enable ‘Add a Menu Bar’ to add a pharmacy option to the menu on the front end. Enable ‘Advance Search’ to conveniently search for products in Odoo POS. The ‘Show Details in Products’ let you decide which options to show in the product info button. In addition, the ‘Show Medicine Information’ adds an information popup on the product image to show details. The ‘Quickpay Button’ will add the Quickpay payment option on the POS Screen.

2. The ‘Delete Order Button’ will let you delete the whole order at once. ‘Show Product Image’ will show the product image in the cart. ‘Configurable Color’ let you set the POS color from the palette. Moreover, the ‘Clear Orderlines’ option will allow you to delete a particular product’s order lines.

3. After that, create all the sub-menus listed under the ‘Pharmacy’ menu.

3.1. Create a doctor, and don’t forget to enable the ‘Is a Doctor’ option.

3.2. Next, create Medicine Products similar to a product. However, you need to enable the ‘Is a Pharma Product’ option, and under the ‘Pharmacy’ tab, enter the various details after enabling ‘Is a Medicine.’ Also, enable the ‘Manage Multi UOM Price’ if you deal in different quantities and unit prices.

3.3. Now, create Medicine manufacturers.

3.4. Create diseases along with a description.

3.5. Add the basic salt for making medicine salt.

3.6. Accordingly, create a salt unit for measuring salts.

3.7. Add medicine salt by mixing the basic salt and units.

3.8. Create salt composition by adding medicine salts.

3.9. Add medicine usage with illness or disease name.

3.10. Enter the side effects of the medicine you sell.

3.11. Add Safety advice for every medicine.

3.12. Add different chemical classes for medicines.

3.13. Accordingly, create a Therapeutic class for every medicine.

3.14. Enter medicine action class in Odoo.

3.15. Add a fact box about different drugs/medicines.

ODOO POS FRONTEND

4. After that, open the Odoo POS, and toggle the side menu/ pharmacy menu configured from the backend. Moreover, the ‘Quickpay’ button lets you make payments quickly according to the set method (Cash, Bank, or Customer Account).

5. Also, you can check the ‘Delete Cart (Trash bin) and Cancel (Clear order lines)’ buttons. The customer button will let you add customers; similarly, the Doctor button adds a doctor to the POS invoice. Once done, click the ‘Medicine Information’ button.

6. You can view all the allowed menus in the information popup. In addition, you can check ‘Alternate Medicines and Alternate Medicines Based on Salt.’

7. Click the alternate salt or medicine option to view the replacements, select any of them, and hit the ‘Add Products’ button to add them to the cart.

8. You can further switch between grid and list view from the provided option.

9. Also, you can launch a customer screen from the screen icon in the top navigation button.

10. From the ‘Advance Search (Magnifying Glass)’ icon, you can filter out medicine based on various filters.
