    INTRODUCTION


    A soundly meta-structured website allows the search engines to get a more concise idea about the contents of the website. Thus, including meta-information in your products can help to bring in more organic traffic on your website by improving the position of your website and webpages on the SERPs.

    Odoo website SEO Suite module allows you to set meta-data at product and category level for your Odoo website. You can set meta-title, meta-description and meta-keywords for products and categories in Odoo.

    The attributes to be included in setting metadata for products and categories can be created in the Odoo.

    • The module allows the Odoo user to configure meta information at the product and category level in Odoo.
    • The length of each metadata attribute can be defined in the configuration.
    • The Odoo user can set meta-title, meta-description and meta-keywords for products and categories in the Odoo.

    INSTALLATION


    1.) Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.

    2.) Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘website_seo’.

    3.) Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.

    4.) Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.

    5.) Then, open on Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.

    6.) In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘website_seo’.

    7.) You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

    WORKFLOW


    1.) In Odoo, Navigate through Website >> Webkul Website Addons. Then, click on ‘Configuration’ next to Website SEO.

    2.) Now, under the title meta Tags limits, set the upper limits to the length of meta-title, meta-description and meta-keywords. Click Save.

    3.) Next, go to Website>> SEO >> SEO Attribute. Here click on Create.

    4.) Enter the sequence. Then fill in the name of the attribute, choose whether it can be applied to the product or public category. Lastly, enter its technical name in the Odoo. You can create multiple attributes as per the requirements.

    5.) Now, Click on ‘SEO Meta’. Click on Create.

    6.) On the form that opens, first choose whether the configuration is for the product or public category.

    7.) Then, for meta-title select the attributes you wish to use to define the meta-title of the product.

    8.) Similarly, select the attributes for meta-description and meta-keywords. The values will be picked up automatically according to the assigned attribute to the respective property.

    9.) Lastly, enter the separator (|, -,  _, etc) you wish to use for display multiple attributes and values in the meta tags. A Separator improves the legibility in the result. Click Save.

    10.) Now, if a product with meta tags appears on the Google results, it would appear as in the following screenshot.

    11.) You can also set the image icon for public categories and their description to be visible on the Odoo website.

    12.) Go to Configuration >> E-commerce categories. Here, click on any defined category name.

    13.) On the form that appears, select the desired image.

    14.) You can also enter a suitable description for this website category under the category description tab.
