    User Guide for Odoo Website SEO Suite

    INTRODUCTION

    Improves website ranking with Odoo Website SEO Suite!

    Getting organic traffic on the website is the main aim of any business with profit generation. And for that, a sound meta-structure is an ideal way to improve the website’s rank. Thus, including meta information in your products can help bring in more organic traffic to your website. It will enhance the position of your website and web pages on the SERPs.

    Odoo website SEO Suite allows you to set meta-data of the product and public category on your website. You can set meta-title, meta-description, and meta-keywords for products and categories in Odoo.

    Also, you can include attributes in the product settings and create categories in the Odoo backend.

    1. Odoo Website SEO Suite allows the Odoo user to configure meta information at the product and category level in Odoo.
    2. You can define the length of each metadata attribute while configuring.
    3. The admin can further set meta-title, meta-description, and meta-keywords for products and categories in the Odoo.
    4. You can also include attributes in defining the meta-data while creating them from the Odoo backend.
    5. Admin can choose and set one or multiple attributes to define the metadata, the values of which are then automatically picked up when the product appears in the SERPs.
    6. The customer can also select images and descriptions for each public category on the Odoo website.
    7. Create one2many and many2one fields for SEO in Odoo.

    INSTALLATION

    1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
    2. Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘website_seo.’
    3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
    4. Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.
    5. Then, open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
    6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘website_seo.’
    7. You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

    CONFIGURATION

    1. Navigate to ‘Settings> Webkul Website Addons> Website SEO’ after installing.

    2. Define the character limit of the Meta Title, Meta Description, and Meta Keywords and set the minimum number of letters in the keywords in the popup.

    3. Move to the ‘Website> SEO> SEO Attribute> New’ to create an attribute in the backend for SEO.

    4. Enter the sequence, fill in the attribute name, choose the category (product or public category), and define the field. Also, you can create multiple attributes as per your requirements.

    5. Go to ‘SEO> Generate SEO> New’ to create a configuration for public categories and products.

    6. On the form, choose whether the configuration is for the product or public category.

    6.1. Then, for the meta-title, add the attributes you wish to use to define the meta-title of the product.

    6.2. Similarly, select the attributes for meta-description and meta-keywords. The values will be picked up automatically according to the assigned attribute to the respective property.

    6.3. In the ‘Meta Tag Settings’ tab, enter the separator (|, -,  _, etc.) you wish to use to display multiple attributes and values in the meta tags. A Separator improves the legibility of the result. Lastly, click the ‘Save’ icon.

    7. After saving, click the ‘Generate Now’ button to generate meta-data for all products.

    META-DATA ON WEBSITE

    8. Go to the website, navigate to the ‘Shop’ page, and open any product page. Click on the ‘Site>This Page> Optimize SEO.’

    9. Enter the Title, Description, Custom URL, Keywords, and product images. Once done, click the ‘Save’ button.

    CREATING eCOMMERCE CATEGORY

    10. After that, go to ‘Website> Configuration> eCommerce Categories> New’ to create an eCommerce category.

    11. In the form, select the desired image. Enter the name, Parent category (if any), and Website.

    11.1. Move to the ‘SEO’ tab and tick the box next to ‘Auto Update SEO’ to automatically update the SEO. Or you can manually enter the meta title, meta description, and meta keywords.

    12. In the ‘Category Description’ tab, enter a suitable description for the category.
