Myflower is a swiss-based online florist and gifting platform that offers a wide variety of flowers to customers. Since its inception in 2006, Myflower is helping customers celebrate special moments by delivering fabulous gifts to their loved ones.

Customers can find flowers and gifts for special occassions like Valentine’s day, Women’s day, Mother’s day, etc. Simple ordering process , flexibility, and freshness of the flowers have always been their top priority.

In this case study, we will examine how Webkul’s Payment Extra Fee/Discount and PrestaShop Development Services helped Myflower grow their revenue.

eCommerce in Switzerland

Switzerland eCommerce market is among the top 5 in Europe in the proportion of online purchases. The online market is projected to reach $16.5 billion in 2024, with an expected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.71% from 2024 to 2029.

In 2024, the Swiss eCommerce market is estimated to rank as the 28th largest globally.

Widespread internet penetration, tech-savvy population, and a favorable business environment are some of the factors that have contributed to the growth tremendously.

PrestaShop Payment Extra Fee/Discount

PrestaShop Payment Extra Fee/Discount facilitates online store owners to charge additional fees or offer discounts for using certain payment methods. Create payment fee and charge customers or offer discount for using specific payment methods in store.

Some payment gateways charge high fees for processing the transactions. If the fee is not passed to the customer, the merchants have to bear the extra charges.

With this module, Myflower can charge customers for using specific payment methods on their store and bypass the payment surcharges.

Also, they can encourage customers to transact with payment methods that are not used often by offering discounts.

Custom Requirements of Client

Myflower had one custom requirement for which they contacted us.

They wanted to set a minimum order criteria for a payment method and orders placed below the set criteria will attract additional fees.

Webkul’s team had detailed discussions for the requirement with their team.

We added two additional fields ‘set minimum order amount’ and ‘extra fee’. If the order total is below the minimum order amount, then extra fee set by the admin will be applied.

And the extra fee message will display on the cart as well as checkout page.

Conclusion

Charging extra fees on specific payment gateways has helped Myflower generate more revenues. Whereas offering discounts on some has allowed them to enhance user experience of their online store.
