Introduction
Odoo Website Google reCaptcha enhances website security by integrating Odoo Google reCaptcha V2 and V3. It prevents unauthorized access by adding Odoo captcha verification.
This module ensures that only real users can access website, reducing spam and potential security threats. Admins can configure captcha settings from backend to fit their security needs.
In Odoo Website Google reCaptcha, admins can configure Odoo reCaptcha settings from backend.
They can select the preferred Odoo reCaptcha version and enable it for login, signup, and password reset actions.
Features
- This module supports both Odoo Google reCaptcha V2 and V3.
- You can choose between reCaptcha V2 and V3 from a dropdown in backend.
- Admins can enable Odoo reCaptcha for specific website actions, such as login, signup, and password reset.
- The module allows admins to set a maximum number of failed login attempts.
- If enabled for login, you can limit failed attempts to prevent unauthorized access.
- Once allowed login attempts are exceeded, system temporarily locks.
- The password reset process also uses Odoo reCaptcha to prevent unauthorized changes.
Installation
- Once you purchase Odoo Website Google reCaptcha from Webkul store, you will receive a link to download the module’s zip file.
- Extract the file on your system after download finishes. As a result, you will be able to see a folder named- ‘odoo_captcha_login_lockdown’
- Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
- Now, open Odoo App and click on Settings menu. Here, click on Activate Developer Mode.
- Then, open Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
- In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘odoo_captcha_login_lockdown’
- You will be able to see module in the search results. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.
Workflow
- Backend View
- After installing Odoo Website Google reCaptcha, you can enable captcha by navigating to Website Webkul Addons > Product Web Page > Website Google reCaptcha > Configuration.

2. Here a pop-up will appear to enable Odoo Google reCaptcha.

3. Once enabled, you need to select your preferred Odoo captcha version and enable the captcha for the specific actions. Enable the login lockdown option and specify the number of allowed attempts.

4. After this, try logging in with an invalid email and password. A message appears on the screen displaying the number of attempts left for the user.

5. If the user exceeds the allowed number of attempts, they must complete the Odoo captcha to log in to the website.

6. The captcha will also appear when signing up for the website.

7. Additionally, when resetting the password, the captcha will be displayed in Odoo Website Google reCaptcha.
