    Odoo Pathology Lab Management System

    Introduction

    Odoo Pathology Lab Management System is a module that can be used in a pathology to book a test for the customer, enter customer’s details and after conducting the test, give test reports to the customer, and provides efficient management of pathology lab records.
    Using system based software applications provide a dynamic record keeping and data processing with other advantages for entire pathology and for end users
    The concepts and design of the Pathology Lab Management System module are to ensure that it can meet the demanding requirements that an ideal software should have to manage today’s busy pathology labs.
    Since Labs are now considered to be one of the highest sources of revenue. Therefore, this module will help you to expand your business, process more samples, and increase your revenues.

    • Pathology Lab Management System module can be used in any Pathology Center to Book a Test for the customer.
    • A patient will be provided with the date at which the test will be conducted.
    • For any kind of check-ups, a customer can visit pathology and get his checkup done.

    Installation

    After buying this app from our Webkul store you will get the link for downloading the zip file. Simply download it and extract then you will see the wk_pathology_management folder, now you will have to copy this app folder inside your Odoo addons path.

    Now simply follow these steps:
    1. Go to settings menu and click on Activate the Developer mode.
    2. Now go to apps menu and Click on ‘Update Modules List’.
    3. Remove the app’s filter and search for the wk_pathology_management key.
    4. Now you will see the module then simply install it.

    After installing you will be able to handle different functionality as mentioned in module’s workflow.

    Workflow

    Sources From where test request can be created

    Let’s start by creating some sources from where test requests can be made. 

    From the menu of Laboratory centers, you can create the record of laboratory centers and specify the details reagarding the laboratory center in it.

    Inside a laboratory center, there can be multiple collection centers. Add collection centers and define the details of the collection centers.

    From the menu of Collection center create records for Collection Center and give a primary Lab center to it. Primary laboratory center is the one where all the samples of this collection center will be sent.

    Under the menu of units, several test unit can be created that will be used in test parameters.

    Since a test is based on few parameters hence after units Lab test parameters can be created.

    Inside a Lab test parameters, you can fill its Maximum, minimum and normal value and mention the description of that test parameter.

    Records of Information for the patient before the test can be created under the menu Pre information which could be added further in Lab tests. These are the information a patient can follow before the test.

    Under the menu of the Sample types various sample can be created that will be added to the lab tests of pathology.

    Default configuration settings like Centers and Mail Notification can be managed and edited from here. This default lab center and collection center will be used in the case where there is no lab center and collection center selected.

    Patients/customers of pathology can be created, edited and checked from the menu patients under pathology tab.

    To create a new record you need to create a patient. Admin can create a new patient from Pathology>>Patient under this menu admin can create and edit all the details of a patient/customer. Several details such as blood group, Rh factor etc can be filled in the personal information of patients.

    Once the patient is created now you can create a pathologist who interprets and diagnoses the changes caused by a disease. Inside the details of the pathologist, you can save the laboratory center and collection center where the respective pathologist belongs to.

    After pathologist, technicians are created who will assist patient at the time of diagnosis. Inside the profile of a technician, admin can check the diagnosis assigned to him or the diagnosis scheduled for him.

    A lab test is a very important part of a pathology lab management software. With this module, you can create as many Lab tests you want. All the lab test conducted in the pathology lab will be created from the menu Tests.

    While creating a Lab test you can set its price and other lab details such as report delivery, sample type, etc.

    With this module you can also create Lab test packages, Lab test package are kind of bundle product these attractive packages may give you a sound revenue. Since people nowadays are health conscious so offering them a package of combined test can be a good concept to boost your revenue. In the kanban view, admin can check the number of tests included in a package and the amount of the package.

    Also, the amount of the package will be calculated accordingly with the test included in a package.

    This image describes how you can add various lab tests to a Test package.

    Now lets us check how to book a new appointment. With this module, it is very easy to book an appointment from the menu of new appointment you can book an appointment just by a click on the respective date for which the booking is to be done.

    Soon after clicking on the date you are doing the booking you need to submit the details regarding the appointment such as the customer name, pathologist whom the appointment is to be booked just after you will fill the appointment with field the time slot will be filtered automatically as per the availability of that pathologist on that particular date. Also, you can add the Lab test or lab test package as a product for this customer.

    An appointment can be approved, rejected or set to be pending by the admin, also the records for diagnosis will be created on approving. Inside the other Info tab, there is also a reminder for the appointment.

    Once the request is been approved, the records for diagnosis will be created automatically. Also, the invoice for the particular patient’s test request can be created just by a single click on create invoice button.

    After clicking on create invoice button, confirm the details of the patient linked to the test request and click on validate button to finally validate the invoice.

    All the appointments and their details can be checked under the menu All appointment. Admin can use the filters to search for the desired appointment.

    All the diagnosis records that are todo can be seen here. Therefore, it will provide the admin to track all the diagnosis.

    Details of diagnosis with parameters of lab tests can be seen inside that diagnosis record. From here admin can collect samples for this diagnosis.

    By clicking on Collect Sample button you can assign this diagnosis to a Technician who will conduct it and set this diagnosis for processing.

    Once the technician is assigned to the technician he can set it to processing.

    After completing this diagnosis, all the obtained values of result can be filled inside obtained value and the diagnosis can be set to do.

    This image will define how can you fill the obtained value for the conducted test. You can also add a comment with the value.

    All the completed diagnosis and their details can be checked under the evaluated Menu.

    Once the diagnosis is completed, the report can be downloaded for the corresponding Appointment.
