INTRODUCTION

Track Your Vehicle at a Go with Odoo Fleet Traccar Tracking!

The Odoo Fleet Traccar Tracking module introduces the convenience of managing a fleet in Odoo. You can use this to manage your business requirements for tracking the vehicles efficiently. 

The process involves gathering, organising, protecting, and storing an organisation’s data to enable analysis for informed business decisions.

Management of data is challenging for businesses as the data varies between vehicles, drivers, and vast deployment areas.

FEATURES

1. Add your Traccar Client (Android or iOS) app and new/old vehicles to the Traccar device ID with the Odoo.
2. Live track the location of the vehicle or vehicles on the map.
3. Check the tracking history of any vehicle every 5 minutes.
4. View a vehicle’s trip and route history based on time.
5. It is Fully compatible with Google Maps.
6. View the Driver’s details like battery percentage, location accuracy, and vehicle speed.
7. Live track the vehicle every 2 minutes (default), or change it according to your need.
8. Configure tracking features in any Android or iOS device via the Traccar Client app.
9. Enable or disable the tracking features for any particular device.
10. Import vehicle trip history manually for a specific duration.
11. View the count of total trips and routes of any vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. After Purchasing the App from the Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.
2. Extract the zip file on your system. And Look for a folder named- ‘odoo_traccar_tracking’.
3. Copy and paste the same folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4. Open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. 
5. Click on Activate the Developer Mode.
6. Then, Open the Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.
7. Remove all the filters from the search bar and search for  ‘odoo_traccar_tracking‘.
8. There You will be able to see the module in the search results. 
9. Click on ‘Install’. Kudos!

PREREQUISITES FOR ODOO FLEET TRACCAR TRACKING

1. Admin needs to download the Traccar web client as per their operating system; the link to download the app is https://www.traccar.org/download/
2. The driver has to install the Traccar Client App for iOS and Android device

5. You require a Google Map API to create an API key with the help of this link : (https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials)
6. You need to enable the below-mentioned APIs after creating the API Key:

• Geocoding API
• Maps JavaScript API
• Maps Static API

WORKFLOW

CONFIGURATION

1. Navigate to ‘Fleet > Configuration > Traccar Configuration > Create’ once it’s installed. Now, you need to add the Traccar URL and Credentials and save or even test the connection.

2. After configuring it, Click the ‘Vehicle ’ tab and select a vehicle which you want to connect with Traccar Or you can create a new vehicle for use. If You want to enable Traccar Tracking then enable the option by the ‘Activate Traccar’ Option.

3. Add the Device Identifier, in status online, Device ID, Name of Device, and Traccar Category. Then, click ‘Create&Validate Vehicle’ and a unique ID will be Linked to the Traccar App.

4. At the Traccar Server App, Click on the ‘+’ button, and add the name and Identifier(Device Unique ID). After entering details, click on the ‘Check’ Button.

5. Now, Click ‘Configuration > Settings > General Settings’ and check mark (Tick) the box next to ‘Geo Localization’. Enter the Street Map API or Google Map API details.

6. Above all Configuration setup on Odoo, The Driver also has to configure the Taccar Client Mobile App. They need to add the device identifier( Device Unique ID) and Server URL(Traccar Server URL). After everything is done, set the Service Status as ‘Online’.

TRACKING VIA TRACCAR

7. For this, Go back to the ‘vehicles’ and Open any configured vehicle. There, you will see the option to View Device Summary, Fetch Trips, Fetch Routs, and View Current Location.

8. Select the ‘Date From and Date To’ option to fetch the Device Summary.

9. After selection, Click on the ‘Fetch Trip Data’ Button and Enter the date of starting to end in ‘Data From’ and ‘Date To’.

10. You can also get Route details by selecting the To and From Data.

11. Moreover, you can track the vehicle’s live location with the ‘View Current Location’ Button which will instantly get the live location.

OTHER VEHICLES DETAILS AND CONFIGURATION

12. For this, go to  ‘Fleet > Contracts’ to create and view existing vehicle contracts.

13. And from the ‘Fleet > Service’  menu, you can have a look at all vehicle services and maintenance details.

14. The ‘Fleet > Odometers’ menu shows the Odometer value of every vehicle.

15. The ‘Fleet > Traccar > Traccar Vehicles’ Menu, can make you view all the Traccar configured vehicles.

16. The ‘Fleet > Traccar > Trip Details’ menu, shows every vehicle trip details.

17. And the ‘Fleet > Traccar > Rout Details’ menu, shows the vehicle route details.
