Mobile App QR Code Login for Magento 2

Magento 2 Mobile App QR Code Login Extension allows the customers to log in to the web store by scanning the QR Code.

For login, the customer can easily use their existing Magento 2 Mobile App to scan the QR code available on the customer login page of the web store.

The module is coming up with so many benefits for the customers. Meanwhile, the customers can log in with QR code to the web store without typing any email ID or passwords, they will simply scan it and get logged in to their web store.

Further, there is no need for customer authentication and verification, which reduces the login steps for the customers by the QR code login system.

Features

Module Installation

First, the customers will get a zip folder and they have to extract the contents of this zip folder on their system.

After that, the extracted folder has an src folder, inside the src folder you have the app folder. 

The user needs to transfer this app folder into the Magento2 root directory on the server as shown below.

After the successful installation, you have to run these commands in the Magento2 root directory: 

First command –

php bin/magento setup:upgrade

Second Command –

php bin/magento setup:di:compile

Third Command –

php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy

After running the commands, the user have to flush the cache from the Magento admin panel by navigating through System > Cache management as shown below.

Multi-Lingual Support

For the multilingual support, the admin will navigate through Store > Configuration > General > Locale Options and select the locale as German (the language into which admin wants to translate the store content).

Translation

For translating the module language, navigate through app > code > Webkul > MobileAppQRCodeLogin> i18n and edit the en_US.csv file.

Further, translate the words on the right and upload the modified file to the same location. The filename of the translated file should be according to the language and region code like de_DE.csv.

The user can edit the CSV like the image below.

Enable The Module

After the successful installation of the module, the admin will Enable the feature from the backend panel. Further, the admin will navigate to Stores > Configurations > QR Code Login as shown in the image below:

Enable QR Code Login : The admin will set Yes to Enable and to No to disable Magento 2 Mobile App login via QR code feature.

Login Using QR Code From Frontend

Once the module is enabled by the admin, the feature will be visible in the frontend. The customer will click on the Login By QR Code button available just below the Login button.

Just after clicking the button,. a popup will appear showing the QR Code as shown in the image below:

Further, the customer will scan this code using the Magento 2 Mobile app. The customer must be logged in to the mobile application.

For this, the customer will click on the Web login tab in the left navigation drawer. The scanner/ QR Code Reader will be available in order to scan the available QR Code, as shown in the image below:

After scanning the customer will get logged in to the web store with the same email ID as in the mobile app.

Also, the customers do not scan within 30 seconds after opening the code, then they need to reload the QR Code by clicking on the reload icon present in the image below:
