Au fil d’Emma is an online fabric store based in France. The store got started in 2007 by Emma who is deeply passionate about fabrics, threads and fibers and wants to share her passion with others.

The store offers a large assortment of patchwork fabrics, contemporary patchwork, textile art kits, embroidery threads and ribbons, fibers for art textiles, etc.

One can find all the haberdashery supplies necessary for works such as needles, sewing materials, batting, interfacing, quilting supplies, etc.

Au fil d’Emma wanted to incorporate the preorder feature into their online store which allows their customers to successfully order the products even when they are not available.

Allowing customers to place backorder in store helped them save the sales that have been probably lost.

Custom Requirements of Client

Au fil d’Emma had one custom requirement for which they contacted us.

Our PrestaShop Preorder module allows the customers to preorder the products using partial payment option.

This means the customerc can preorder the product by paying a fraction of product amount. They can pay the remaining amount when the product becomes available for purchase.

The client wanted to show the remaining amount on order details page and under ‘Preorder Orders’ tab in customer’s account.

Our team understood the client’s requirement and added a column for remaining amount on preorder’s order list page and customer order details page.

Conclusion

Webkul’s PrestaShop Pre Order proved to be game changer for Au fil d’Emma. Implementing Pre Order functionality helped them secure sales that would otherwise be lost due to out of stock situations. The extension has proven to be a valuable addition to their online store.
