User Guide for WooCommerce POS Happy Hours

WooCommerce POS Happy Hours plugin enables store admin to provide discounts during designated happy hours at their point of sale outlets.

It gives admin the ability to set up multiple discount rules for specific products, categories, or on total cart amounts.

The admin has the ability to modify labels for various fields such as Countdown Timer Text, Happy Hour Title, and Happy Hour Discount Text.

They can also decide whether to offer discounts to all customers or just to specific ones. Discounts can either be a set amount or a percentage, allowing for more flexible pricing options.

Note:

• It is required to install WooCommerce Point of Sale System prior to using this plugin.
• This module is compatible with WooCommerce’s new High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) feature.

• Admin has the ability to set up labels for fields like Countdown Timer Text and Happy Hour Title.
• Admin can establish several rules for discounts during happy hour.
• The System helps admin apply discount rules to certain products, product categories, or on total cart amounts.
• POS users can offer happy hour discounts to customers during the specified happy hour timeframe.
• The admin can decide whether to apply a happy hour rule to all customers or just to specific ones.
• Discounts can be either a fixed amount or a percentage off.
• A particular Happy Hour discount rule can be turned on or off as needed.
• The start and end times for Happy Hour can be set for both the date and time.
• User Guide for WooCommerce POS Happy Hours is not multisite compatible.

The user will get a zip file that he has to upload in the “Add New” menu option in the WordPress admin panel.

For this, login to WordPress Admin Panel then Under the Dashboard, hover your mouse over the “Plugins” menu option which brings out a Sub-Menu then select the “Add New” option.

After this, you will see an option on the top of your page that is “Upload Plugin”, Now clicks the option to upload the zip file.

By clicking on the “Upload Plugin” option, below that you will see a button “Choose File” click on the button to browse for the zip file as per the snapshot below.

After browsing the file, click the “Install Now” button to install the plugin as per the snapshot.

Now when the plugin is installed correctly, you will see the success message & an option to activate the plugin.

Henceforth now, click on “Activate Plugin” to activate the installed plugin.

After the plugin is installed successfully, it is visible under the Installed Plugins section as per the image below,

Once the Plugin is installed successfully, admin proceeds to configure the Happy Hours plugin. Initially, they navigate to Point of Sale>Settings>Happy Hours.

Here, they get the option to set the labels for various fields as per the image below,

The following fields are available to be edited,

• Countdown Timer Text
• Happy Hour Title
• Happy Hours Discount Fee Title
• Happy Hour Discount Text

Creating Happy Hour Rule

After the labels have been set, admin now proceeds to add happy hour discount rules. They navigate to Point of Sale>Happy Hours. The page is displayed as per image below,

Now to create a new Rule, Admin taps on the Add New button. After that, they are redirected to a new page where they can add information and conditions for the new happy hour discount rule.

On this page, admin gets the following options,

Add Happy Hour

• Rule Name – Enter Rule Name
• Rule Type – Enter Type of Rule
• Rule Status – Enable or Disable Rule Status
• Start Date – Define Start Date of Rule
• End Date – Define End Date of Rule
• Start Time – Set Start Time of Rule
• End Time – Set End Time of Rule

  • All
  • Select Customers

Discount

• Apply Discount On:
  • Product
  • Product Categories
  • Cart Total
• Discount Type
  • Fixed
  • Percentage
• Amount

After setting up the fields as required, the admin taps the Save Rule button to add the rule to the list.

Store admins define Happy Hour rules. When a condition is met, the system automatically applies these rules on the POS panel and displays them to the POS user.

Let’s check below how happy hour discounts are visible and provided based on Product, Product Categories and Cart Total.

Product Happy Hour Discount

Admin selects particular products on which the happy hour discount shall be applicable. Once the POS User add the specific product to the POS cart, then the discount is applied automatically.

The Happy Hour discount details are also reflected in the Invoice as per image below,

Category Happy Hour Discount

When a customer adds a product from that category to the cart and the discount rule allows a Happy Hour discount, the system automatically applies the discount.

Cart Total Based Discount

If the admin sets the Happy Hour discount based on the cart total and the cart total falls within the specified range, the system automatically applies the discount.

For Cart total based discount also, the discount amount is reflected in the invoice as well,

The priority for applying happy hour discounts incase of multiple rules being active at a time works as follows in this plugin – Product>Category>Cart Total.
