User Guide of PrestaShop IndexNow Integration

PrestaShop IndexNow Integration facilitates you to instantly notify search engines when you add or update products, categories, or pages, allowing your content to quickly appear in search results.

Now you don’t have to wait for the search engines to discover content changes traditionally.

The module automatically alerts search engines the moment you publish or update content, helping you rank faster in search results.

Note: PrestaShop IndexNow Integration is compatible with multi-store feature of Prestahop.

• Real-time notification to supported search engines about content updates via IndexNow.
• Submit product, category, and CMS URLs to IndexNow.
• Submit URLs of all the products at once to the IndexNow.
• Select specific products and combination whose URLs you want to submit.
• Configure specific categories whose product URLs you want to submit.
• Submit URLs of multiple categories and CMS pages at once.
• Automatically submit product, category, and CMS URLs to IndexNow when they added or updated.
• Manually submit product, categories, CMS and other URLs to IndexNow.
• A log of all the URLs submitted to IndexNow is maintained in the back office.

• Firstly, go to the module manager in the back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
• After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
• In this way, the module installation will be successful.

PrestaShop IndexNow Integration module uses the official API endpoint provided by IndexNow.org to submit URLs: https://api.indexnow.org/indexnow?url=&key=

Once submitted, these URLs are shared to all the search engines (Bing, Yandex, Naver, etc) that are supported by IndexNow.

This helps notifying search engines when content is added or updated, thus discovering and indexing your updates faster.

After the successful installation of the module, a new tab “IndexNow” gets available under Shop Parameters section in the PrestaShop back office.

From here, the admin can configure the module settings and submit product, category, and CMS page URLs to IndexNow.

Under General tab, the admin must generate an API key. The API key is required to submit URLs from PrestaShop to IndexNow.

Click on ‘Generate key’ button.

Once generated, the admin can update it by clicking on ‘Edit’ button.

API Key

The API key ensures that the submitted URLs come from from the authorized source, and validates it for you.

If you update the API key, make sure to update and re-submit all the URLs. This helps search engines refresh your content and boost your visibility in search results.

This tab allows the admin to submit product page URLs to IndexNow. The admin can choose to submit URLs product wise and category wise.

Product Wise Indexing

The admin can submit the URLs of all the products at once or select the specific products for which they want to submit URLs.

Submit URLs of all products

Click on ‘Submit all URLs’ to submit URLs of all products.

Submit URLs of specific products

The admin can search and select the products for which they want to submit URLs.

The admin can search for the product in the ‘Search product’ field. Enter the initial letters for the products to search and click on the ‘search button.

On clicking the search button, the search results will appear on the page.

The admin can select the products and their combinations for which they want to submit the URLs. Once selected, click on the ‘+Append to submission list’ button.

On clicking the ‘+Append to submission list’ button, a list of products along with combinations selected by the admin will appear on the page.

Click on ‘Submit selected product URLs’ button to submit the URLs of selected products and combinations.

If the admin wants to submit the already submitted URLs again, then they need to enable ‘Include previously submitted URLs (force update)’ option mentioned below ‘Select products from’ field.

Category Wise Indexing

The admin can select the categories whose product URLs they want to submit.

Once selected, click on ‘Submit Urls’ button.

If the admin wants to submit the already submitted URLs again, then they need to enable ‘Include previously submitted URLs (force update)’ option.

Under Category Indexing, the admin can choose the categories whose URLs they want to submit to IndexNow.

Once selected, click on ‘Submit URLs’ button.

Under CMS Indexing, the admin can choose the CMS pages whose URLs they want to submit to IndexNow.

Once selected, click on ‘Submit URLs’ button.

Under real time sync, the admin can choose to automatically submit product, category, and CMS URLs to IndexNow when they are added or updated.

To automatically submit more than 10000 URLs, you can setup a cron job. Specify the URL mentioned in the above screenshot in the cron tasks manager.

With this module, the admin can also index the URL of product, categories, and CMS.

Click on ‘Add manual url’ button to manually index URL.
