Select and Sell For Marketplace

So now lets discuss about the benefits of using this feature.

• The very first and most crucial benefit is that this module doesn’t create separate products even when the same product is sold by many different sellers. Only a single base product will exist in the global product catalog.
• The other benefit is already been discussed above that sellers don’t have to create any new product and fill all the details for being able to sell the same product which other seller is already selling on the marketplace.
• When a customer visits any product page – Black T-Shirt, he will be able to see the list of all the sellers who are also selling that Black T-shirt. So customer can easily compare the prices at which different sellers are selling the t-shirt.

Lets say seller John was not aware about the second option- Select and Sell, and he desperately wanted to sell the Black T-shirt. So what he would have done is that he had chosen the first option and created a new product from his account and added the same Black T-Shirt which seller Mike was originally selling. Now, the t-shirt that seller John has created would have the different and unique SKU value and hence it will be a new product in the marketplace catalog. So now, two same products would show up in the marketplace as different products. Now suppose, what seller John has done other sellers also decide to do the same thing as they also wanted to sell the Black T-Shirt. So they have also created new products from their account and now the marketplace is filled with Black T-shirts. Customer will see the same product in the catalog not just once but many times. This will frustrate the customer as they will be seeing the same product again and again.

Also creating a new product is time consuming as seller has to fill in all the necessary details such as category, product name, description, sku, stock, stock availability, visibility, tax class, weight, meta title, meta description, meta keywords, product image, etc.

The other thing is, when different sellers had created the same Black T-shirt from their accounts, it will not just flood the catalog but also it will consume a lot of storage space.

If different sellers has provided different prices for the t-shirt,then customers might not be able to see or check all the seller’s product who are selling the same t-shirt. In this case, the customers might not be able to correctly compare the prices for the t-shirt.
