Guide for PrestaShop AI Image Background Remover

PrestaShop AI Image Background Remover module facilitates you to remove background from the product images.

Leveraging the power of AI, the module removes the background of your product images with just a single click, thus making the images more clearer.

Note: PrestaShop AI Image Background Remover module is compatible with PrestaShop multi-store feature.

Note: Server should not be shared-hosted.

• Allows admin to remove background of the images.
• Remove background of all the images of a product at once.
• Select specific images of which you wish to remove background.
• Preview the images once their background is removed.
• Supports JPG, PNG, and JPEG image formats.
• Provide clearer product images to customers.

The following minimum system requirements are needed for this module.

• Python Version – 3.10
• RAM (4 GB)
• Space (16 GB)
• Server key and cert files (for Flask API)
• One port (5000)

To install AI module, we need SSH access. You can also check the AI Models Server Installation

• Firstly, go to the module manager in the back office and click on ‘upload a module’.
• After that, drag and drop the module file or select the file from the system.
• In this way, the module installation will be successful.

After the successful installation of the module, the admin needs to configure it.

Host name: Here the admin needs to specify the API server host where the API server is set up.

API token key: Here the admin enters API token key.

Note: A server is required to remove product image background. So, we need to install this on your server. Please contact us for installation.

After the successful installation of the module, a new option “Remove image background” gets available under description tab on the add/update product page.

On clicking “Remove image background” button, a popup appears on the page where the admin can view a list of all the product images.

In popup, the admin can select the images from which he wants to remove background.

The admin can select all the images at once by clicking on ‘Select all’ button or select specific images.

Once selected, click on the ‘Apply’ button to remove their background.

Preview Images

On the popup, when the admin hovers on an image he can view an ‘eye’ icon.

On clicking the icon, the admin can preview the image.

Admin can preview all the product images using previous/next buttons.

On the image preview popup, the admin can select the images for which he wants to remove the background.

Once selected, click on the apply button to remove their background.

On clicking the apply button, background from the selected images will be removed and the admin can view original and processed images in separate columns.

The admin can also preview both original and processed images to see the difference.

When the admin hovers over the images, he can view an ‘eye’ icon. Click on the icon to preview the images.

Replace Original Images with Processed Images

The admin can select the images that he wants to replace. Once selected, click on ‘Replace selected’ button.

Clicking the button replaces the original images with the processed images.

When a customer visits the product product page, he can view the product images without a background.
