User Guide for Odoo Product Feed for ChatGPT

Odoo Product Feed for ChatGPT helps businesses create a structured product feed from Odoo that AI systems like ChatGPT can read. As a result, products can appear in AI-powered search and shopping results.

Moreover, Odoo Product Feed for ChatGPT organizes product data using the OpenAI product feed format. This makes it easier for AI platforms to understand and display product information correctly.

Additionally, the module allows you to map fields, generate feeds, and publish them through a hosted URL. Therefore, businesses can prepare their product catalog for AI-based product discovery.

1. Generate a ChatGPT-compatible product feed directly from Odoo using the OpenAI product feed format.
2. Map OpenAI product feed fields with Odoo product fields for accurate data structure.
3. Automatically generate and update the product feed using scheduled actions.
4. Publish the product feed using a hosted URL for easy access by AI systems.
5. Control product eligibility to decide which products appear in AI shopping results.
6. Support product variants so all product options are included in the feed.
7. Provide structured product data that AI systems like ChatGPT can easily understand.
8. Prepare your product catalog for AI commerce and product discovery.

1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive a link to download module’s zip file.
2. Extract the file on your system after download finishes. As a result, you will be able to see a folder named “wk_chatgpt_product_feed”.
3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4. Now, open Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate Developer Mode.
5. Then, open Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘wk_chatgpt_product_feed’
7. You will be able to see module in the search results. Click on ‘Activate’ to install it.

After installing Odoo Product Feed for ChatGPT, you will see a new menu named AI Shopping Feeds in the Odoo backend.

2. Once you click on AI shopping Feeds, the Product Feed page will appear . Click on Configuration >> Move to Product Feed Fields.

3. Here, you will see the list of Product feed fields, these field are provided by OpenAI that is required to send product data in a structured format to AI systems.

4. Now, click on New to create a new Product Feed Field based on your business requirements.

5. Configure the Product feed field by filling the Field Details , which are as follows:-
(a)Datatype :- Select the type of data such as integer, string, or boolean.
(b)Supported values:- Define the allowed values based on the selected datatype.
(c) Is Required – Specify whether the field is required for the product feed, checkout, both, or optional.

(d) Field Type : This refers to the Group of standard fields provided by OpenAI. Select the field type to which your field belongs to.

(e) Description:- Lastly you can add a description for your field reference regarding the field information, then Save.

6. Next, go to Product Feeds and click on New to create a new product feed.

7. Proceed with Product feed configuration, this is where the OpenAI field are Mapped with the Odoo fields and the Product feed is generated. 

8. In the Product Configuration Section, select your feed-generation preferences.
(a). Eligible for Search: Product eligible to be searched on the Generated Feed
(b). Include Product Variants: Multiple product variants will also be considered for the feed generation
(c). Eligible for checkout:- Make the product eligible for checkout from OpenAI directly
(d). Product Domain:- Select the Product domain from where the data is to be fetched.

9. Now, go to the Field Mapping section to map OpenAI product fields with Odoo product fields. This step ensures correct data structure.

10. In the Product Field section, map fields related to product details such as name, description, and other key information.

11. In the Value Source section, you can select the product field for the mapping or set a default value for that field.

12. Then, move to the Extra Fields section to map additional information such as policies, seller details, or target countries,etc.

13. After completing the mapping, click on Confirm and then Validate to finalize the product feed.

14. Click on the ” Generate Feed Button to generate the product feed button and the state will be Changed to Active.

15. Once validated, a Hosted URL is generated when the feed becomes active. This URL can be used by ChatGPT and other AI systems.

16. In the Extra info tab, the automatic feed generation feature can be selected in order to automatically update the product feed at the scheduled interval of time.

17. Go to Sales → Products and open any product. Here, you can mark the product as AI Search Eligible and AI Checkout Eligible. If these field are enabled  we have to add them in the Product Domain in the product feed.
