User Guide for Odoo Advance Adjustable Chatter

Introduction

Odoo Advance Adjustable Chatter allows users to resize, hide, and manage the chatter panel with user-specific and screen-based settings across all devices. 

It improves screen usability without affecting Odoo’s default workflow. The system automatically saves each user’s chatter preferences and restores them every time the record is opened.

Features

1. Users can easily resize the chatter panel to adjust screen space based on their working needs.
2. Each user’s chatter size and position are saved automatically and restored on every login.
3. Users can collapse the chatter into a side arrow and expand it back to the last saved size.
4. The chatter can behave differently on each model or screen based on saved user preferences.
5. The chatter layout adjusts smoothly to fit desktop, tablet, and mobile screen sizes.
6. Users can easily hide or access the chatter on mobile devices without affecting usability.
7. Each user’s chatter settings remain separate and never affect other users’ layouts.

Installation

1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive a link to download module’s zip file.
2. Extract the file on your system after download finishes. As a result, you will be able to see a folder named- ‘advance_adjustable_chatter’.
3. Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.
4. Now, open Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate Developer Mode.
5. Then, open Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List.’
6. In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘advance_adjustable_chatter’.
7. You will be able to see module in the search results. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

Workflow

1. After installing the Odoo Advance Adjustable Chatter module, enable the feature for required users from Settings > Users > Select User > Enable Adjusting Chatter.

2. Open any record in Sales, such as Orders or Quotations, and collapse or expand the chatter using the side arrow or drag handle.

The system automatically saves the layout for each user and model.

3. On desktop, mobile, or tablet screens, the chatter adjusts responsively. All changes affect only the view and do not impact Odoo’s default workflow.
