Grub Restore in Linux

One of the most common issue arises of the GRUB boot loader for linux users.

My this post will tell you how you can restore your GRUB without loose of your important data.

Step 1: Just boot from Live CD or USB and just reach the desktop do nothing else

Step 2:  Just open your terminal and type grub

Step 3: root(hd0,4)

Now you just have to give the partition for the root in my case it is root (hd0,4)  —– you can check your partiton by typing fdisk -l (with root permission)

Step 4 : setup(hd0)

Then quit grub by quit command nad simple reboot your system for changes to be applied.

There are other methods also for Grub restore but i found this one most simplest of all. 🙂

And it worked for me 🙂
