Akeneo WooCommerce App is used to connect Akeneo PIM with the WooCommerce store. It facilitates the import and export of product data between the two platforms.
Using the app, a user can import and export various data such as Products, Categories, Attributes etc. between WooCommerce and Akeneo.
App supports Simple and Variable product types for import and export purposes.
Additionally, you can also look at the Akeneo BigCommerce App if required to import and export data between Akeneo and BigCommerce.
Features
- The app allows exporting Akeneo categories, attributes, attribute options, products, product associations and weight units.
- It can export Products with single level or two level variations and also product images.
- App supports mapping based on individual stores.
- It allows fixed values for fields during data export (Use True or False for Boolean attributes).
- Functionality to export Assets is present in the app.
- User can map variant images.
- Feature to update product slugs using toggle button in export job.
- Slug mapping to allow combination of multiple attributes (text, number, simple select) with a checkbox.
- Individual job for each entity during import (Category, Attribute, Product).
- Import mapping present for standard WooCommerce product attributes.
- Import Categories, Families, Products, Product Models from WooCommerce.
- Attributes such as Size, Color and Material can be imported from WooCommerce.

Product Limit
Please note that there is no limit on the number of products that can be imported or exported.
Reference Entity
Support for Reference Entity is not available in this app currently.
How to connect Akeneo WooCommerce App
After searching for the Akeneo WooCommerce App in the Akeneo app store, you have to tap the connect button,

Next, tap on the Connect button and on the page that appears, tap on the Allow and Next buttons to proceed further,

Afterwards, check and agree to the app’s privacy policy and terms and conditions,, and tap the Allow and Next button,

Thereafter, provide the access permissions to the category trees, including – Catgeory, Locale, Attribute Group, and others, and then tap the Next button after that.
Note: These app permissions appear in the case of Akeneo EE edition users only.

Now, confirm the access and tap the Confirm button.

After the permissions section, the app will be connected, and on the app page, you can see the notification for a 7-day trial period.

Now, the user can see the Akeno WooCommerce app connected, and tap on Open App to open it.

Akeneo App Flow Management:
To manage the Akeneo WooCommerce App, tap the Manage App button. Here, for the flow type, you need to select the Other type.
Note: You must select the Data Source flow type in the Growth, Flexibility, and Serenity editions.
How to purchase a plan?
After the app is connected and when opened, the user is redirected to the Plans page where they’ll have to purchase a plan as per requirement,
Now, the user will click on Buy Now to purchase a new plan. Then, they are redirected to PayPal to complete the transaction.

After successful payment, user is redirected to the Plans page where the selected plan is now in Activated state.

WooCommerce API Integration
The admin can easily generate API keys from the WordPress Admin backend. For this, the admin will navigate to WooCommerce -> Settings as per the below image.
After that navigate to API -> Keys/Apps -> Add Key as per the below image.
The admin will be redirected to the Key Details page when the admin clicks on the Add Key button.
Here, the admin will:
- Add the Description.
- Select the WordPress admin User to generate the key for.
- For this REST API key, choose Read/Write Permission as the level of access.
After entering all the details, the admin will click the “Generate API Key” button. This will generate REST API keys for the selected user as per the below image.
Setup Credentials in Akeneo WooCommerce App
After generating the API credentials, the user will connect the app and the navigate to WooCommerce>Credentials>Add Credentials,

User has to fill the below details,
- Shop URL
- Consumer Key
- Consumer Secret
Once the details are filled, tap on Save to add the credentials on the app. The credentials are added as per the below image,

User can activate or deactivate a particular store credential through a button which appears when they hover over them.
Mapping
Edit Credentials
To edit a credential, user will tap on the Edit button. Once tapped, they’ll be redirected to the Edit Credentials section,

Here, they can edit the Consumer Key and the Consumer Secret key.
Export Mapping
The app user will perform the mapping for exporting product information in the Export Mappings section.
They will map the attribute fields in WooCommerce with that of Akeneo attribute fields.

The following columns are provided in the app for export mapping purpose,
- Field in WooCommerce – Standard WooCommerce fields
- Use Value of Attribute – Akeneo attribute values to be set for WooCommerce standard fields.
- Use this Fixed Value – Static default value for WooCommerce standard fields.
Other Mappings
Akeneo WooCommerce App also provides some additional mappings in the Other Mappings section,

Non Select Attribute send as Select Attribute – Export non select attribute types such as text, text area, number, boolean, multi select, metric, date and price) as custom attribute values or options.
Attributes to be used as Custom Attributes (Export/Import) – Can add variants attributes here, supported attribute type (boolean, text, text area, number, simple select, metric).
Attributes to be used as Images – These selected attributes will be used as Product Images.
Attribute to be used as Variant Image – These selected attributes will be used as variant product images.
Send Metric Attribute with unit – Enable this option to export the unit in a custom attribute while exporting the products.
Files to export as URL – Only the selected file type attribute will be exported as URL.
Import Mappings
In the Import Mapping, the user maps the standard WooCommerce fields with Akeneo attributes to import the data from WooCommerce to Akeneo.
Initially, a feature to map the same standard attribute fields as Export Mappings for importing data is provided for the user.
Note: Except the Slug attribute, it will map the standard attributes.

Next, Media Mappings section is also provided to import media and assets,
- Media Type – Choose media type (Asset or Image) for attribute type to be imported.
- Assets attribute – Select assets attribute to import product images in mapped attribute.

Association Mapping
Akeneo WooCommerce App user will navigate to Association Mapping section to map the Up-sell and cross-sell associations between the two platforms.
User maps the cross-sell and up-sell association fields in WooCommerce with association attribute fields in Akeneo. The configuration is as below,

Akeneo WooCommerce App Export Jobs
The app has the following export jobs available for product data transfer from Akeneo to WooCommerce,

- Attribute Export Job
- Category Export Job
- Product Export Job

Import Jobs
To import the data from WooCommerce to Akeneo, the app provides the below import jobs,
